Yeah he turned out to be a solid starter after some time, initially though they made Ellis move inside to play 3T and wanted Thomas to start on the outside early and it was a joke.

Being wrong about a player doesn't make you a dumbass, it's being wrong about a player and doubling and tripling down on that player that makes people dumbasses.

 

There was one report that Becton signed with Cinn but that link was removed today. There nothing else about him and it seems he is still unsigned. I hope interest in him picks up because we want him to get a big contract for the comp pick.

If I was JD I'd be acting sad about losing Becton because we cant afford him. Saying things like he was really developing well last year. Then "leak" a video on social media of his best run blocks from last season. The great thing about Becton is you can edit him into a star.

 

You're dealing with the Jets organization. If you think they can come up with a plan half as good as this, they wouldn't be working for the Jets.

Looks like the Jets will be moving to a gap blocking scheme which, oddly enough, plays to Becton's strengths. C'est la vie.

 

So typical of the Jets to draft their future LT, play him in a scheme that wasn't suited to his talents, then let him go in FA, then switch to a scheme in which he could have flourished. The stupidity of Coaches and GMs in the NFL is simply amazing.

 

Is this scheme change part of the reason why he looked so much better his rookie year than he did last year when he was one of the worst starting LT’s?

 

I'm going to say it. Bring Becton back. He could likely be had for cheap, he's young, he can step in if one of the starting tackles goes down and can possibly learn a thing or 2 from Tyron.

 

That was not in the least what I was implying. Sorry for the confusion. Just a statement about the general state of things.
