Dude was the 11th ranked RT in football last year. If he declined to 15th we're in fantastic shape comparatively.
With the exception of Eluemunor, all of them. Andrus Peat Trenton Brown Jonah Williams George Fant Kendall Lamm David Quessenberry Charlie Heck
That's a bad list. I don't think Peat is good (and he played LT). Trent Brown has played like 1 full season in the past 5. Jonah Williams is a good name but he's better at LT. Fant is worth considering but Moses was better than him as an RT. The rest of those guys are backups
Which is why Douglas HAS to draft a stud Tackle at #10, or with his first pick no matter what. These guys don't shake loose is they're any good.
except that simpson is young and moves well. the ravens are up against the cap and need to make moves to afford their FA signings.
Our GM is HORRENDOUS... If he worked anywhere else, he'd be fired. The Adams trade that lead to his one good draft that was almost impossible to F%$ Up because he had TWO TOP 10 PICKS is his claim to keeping a job - everything else is a train wreck... This team is in the same place it was when he got here - decent defense, terrible HC and offensive staff and an anemic offense with a terrible O-Line.
Pretty sure the Ravens went into the offseason with a roster management situation and projection that was going to basically demand they make some tweak sacrifices.
Did Zeitler sign yet? I can imagine him coming into Play Right guard and having avt play left tackle. That wouldn't be bad. Avt Tippmann and 60% of the Ravens old line LOL. I know avt's best position is not left tackle but this would be intriguing to me
Because they’re too busy swimming through the load of shit JD has created to find the one or two corn kernels of goodness
Technically they did a 4th round pick swap (113 for 135) and gave up a 6th (218). That 22 spot drop and the 6th rounder is the equivalent of pick 144/145 (5th rounder). So he gave up the equivalent of an early 5th round pick to get Moses back.
I don’t even know what sort of blocking scheme we run because Hackett is a dipshit but Simpson & Morgan would indicate we’re heading in a man blocking scheme. This move is fine from a projected value perspective but it feels like we’re getting guys years late. The Ravens get great value in Simpson at $1 million for a year and Moses for $5 million, we get Simpson for 6x that and have to give up capital to get Moses for his age 33 season. Would be nice for once to find a good player on some value.
You're right he should have.(You conveniently left out the 4th we get back, unless you didn't realize we were) But he made this deal to improve the team, letting ego to not get in the way. I'd rather a GM admit the mistake rather than see Moses playing against us elsewhere.
yeah, ranked by whom? some "dudes"? it is just stupid, let him walk when he's good, then suck and, in desperation, trade assets to bring him back when hes declining. I'm tired of the patchwork BS from this front office
Yeah, and that draft you or I could have picked those players with both hands tied behind are back AND a blindfold on. Any idiot could have drafted 2 of the 3 1st rounders...
Tough board...JD solidifies the RT spot for next year for the equivalent of a 5th round pick and half the board is still complaining. I know the guy's made a ton of mistakes as a GM but it's fine to call a move good when it's a genuinely good move.
Peat has played OG and RT. He isn't listed as an LT and as far as I know has never played LT. Jonah Williams' best season was this past season, and it was at RT, not LT
Which is fine, he's made more than his fair share of mistakes. I get all the outrage at JD, I really do, but it's fine to call a good move a good move.
I guess time will tell if it's a good move. The shame of it is, with the coaching staff that is in place, I don't know that we could put Orlando Pace, Joe Thomas and Nick Mangold with a little Trent Williams mixed in and do anything positive. Coaching matters when it's a collective 5 man unit trying to do a "collective job" each and every snap. I know it's such a doom and gloom take but the proof is right before our eyes.
