Big FA domino falls as Kirk Cousins goes to Atlanta. EDIT: Woof...4 years, 180M (100M gtd.), including a 50M signing bonus. Atlanta really wanted Cousins.
The OTC crew projects the Jets will get a 4th round compensatory pick next year for Huff. Man, would love to know what offers the Jets were getting for Huff after they took McDonald last year. Anything more than a 4 and JD comes out of this looking like a big loser.
So Huff, our best pass rusher, is gone. Meanwhile, Franklin-Myers is getting paid nearly $16.4 million this upcoming year. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
The Jets let Huff go and when the Jets make moves (or don't make moves) like this, I always think Douglas has a plan. Oftentimes, though, he doesn't have a plan or his plan doesn't work. We'll see.
Still can’t believe we kept JFM and let Huff go. But hey JJ was really good last year and let’s hope Will makes the same jump this year
I just said same thing it really doesn’t make sense he’s overpaid for what he does. Hope that means pay cut coming
If/when this Rodgers/Hackett outside of GB experiment fails spectacularly.....that's a pretty long and miserable year of looking towards 2025 without that lottery ticket to look forward to. I'd be taking the under regardless though on Higgins both staying healthy and matching his 2023 production of 42 catches and 650 yards in this offense.
Could also see them going with Turner. With Morris coming back to ATL, I could def see him trying to get a guy for his D. This is me just trying to will this into existence, we really don't need another team in front of us to take OL or WR.
Saquon to the Eagles, 3 years, 37.75M with incentives that could push it up to 46.75M (26M gtd). Wow. Big get for the Eagles.
Atlanta is always hard to predict in the draft. But they have the QB, RB, and WRs. They just need help up front. Fashanu may be their pick.
It was widely reported last week that there was interest. Still shocking to see it actually happen. Giants have one of the worst rosters in the league.
I honestly think Joe Douglas (& Saleh & Hackett) will be fired after this season anyway. So I'm actually fine with no big signings this year. Not screwing us over long-term with a big FA signing on their way out the door is good. Let the new GM sort things out next year
Because JD fucked up in a major way again. All he had to do is transition tag Huff, and then match this deal. What a fool.
I mean in all fairness there hasn't been as good of a QB openly available to sign since the last time Kirk was a FA. I actually thought Atlanta would end up giving him even more. And anybody saying they wouldn't love to for that to be the Jets right now, after hypothetically waiting a year and passing on all the sacrifices we made to appease Rodgers, is lying to themselves
