as an fsu fan, i'm pretty excited about the new staff. mickey andrews' D's have always been solid. the loss of the lb coach kevin steele was big, but now that amato is back on board, i have a feeling the lb core will be just fine.
the big hire, though, was stealing jimbo fisher from lsu. that will be a huge addition along with the addition of rick trickett from wvu as the assistant head coach/line coach.
i know they'll need some time to gel, and i'm not expecting a return to the top 10 just yet, but i think they'll be back soon.
any thoughts from miami and uf fans?

its on, I'm a Noles fan too and Jimbo Fisher will end up being one of the most important hires in college this year. No more horrible Jeff Bowden play calling. Yeah, Steele is a big loss but I dont think we couldve hired a better replacement. FSU will return to its prestige. I'm not saying national title. But they will at least have a strong push to take the ACC title back.

EVERYBODY GET READY FOR MARCUS SIMS! The funny thing is he can play both RB and LB. so i wonder where they put him. I'd imagine at LB with the loss of Buster Davis and Lawrence Timmons.

for the first time since 2001, i'm really excited to see where this team goes. thank you jeff bowden for realizing how bad you really are, it took way too long though.
it felt eerily similar to the kotite years when jeff bowden was at the offensive helm.

It'll take some time to get back to where they were, but they are going in the right direction with some of these hires. I figure they have a couple years with Fisher max, unless they promised him the HC job the second that Bowden retires (and I'd imagine it would have to be soon), and Amato was a smart choice to bring back. I think the loss of Steele will be seen pretty prominently out there, esp. with losing Davis and Timmons, but they have enough talent to get over it (Hayes is going to be a monster).

I will say that beyond Antone Smith, the skill players/QBs are in need of something big, because with the mindset they have now, they can't get it done. Maybe it's time for Xman to get in there full time as the starter, and that's from Spring practice all the way up through September.
