In this mock, I rejected all trade down offers in the 1st round, and didn't get any more offers so only wound up with 4 players since I only do 4 round mock drafts. It's the only draft so far where Alt was sitting there at #10. ยท10. Joe Alt, OT Notre Dame 72. Devontez Walker, WR North Carolina 111. Jared Wiley, TE TCU 113. Malik Mustapha, S Wake Forest

I traded down with NE in this draft. The trade down took me out of the 1st round, but I was curious to see how much talent I could add and what positions I could address. I don't know if this would pan out to be a very good draft, but I like it. I focused on offense, and only added Wilson with pick #114 because he was a great value there. I got to add 3 OL. I haven't seen any of these guys play, but really like what I've read about Suamataia and Amegadjie at OT, and it seems that Van Pran would be a plug and play starter at C if the Jets moved Tillman to OG, or perhaps Van Pran could play OG. Wilson and Wiley have great size (6'6" and 6'7") and excellent speed for their size. Wilson is supposedly a very good to great coverage LB and was a bit of a steal as PFN had him rated at #85. 34. Kingsley Suamataia, OT BYU 68. Sedrick Van Pran, OC Georgia 72. Kiran Amegadjie, OT Yale 103. Johnny Wilson, WR Florida State 111. Jared Wiley, TE TCU 114. We will have to replace him at this rate. He ain't staying with this sorry team. And I don't blame him either.

Not when your QB is either running for his life 1 second after the snap - or worse, on the ground every time he attempts pass.
Just to see how it would work out, I accepted a Washington trade down proposal. 36. Kingsley Suamataia OT BYU 40. Michael Penix Jr. QB Washington 67. Kris Jenkins DT Michigan 72. Xavier Legette WR South Carolina 112. Cade Stover TE Ohio State 114. Christian Mahogany OG Boston College 2025 WAS 2nd I didn't like that Suamataia was the best OT prospect left. I started to take Graham Barton OG instead of Penix, but getting Penix there was just too good a value and would give the Jets their potential heir to Rodgers. If Jenkins is anywhere near as good as his old man, that would fix our DT hole beside Q.
PFF simulator played Santa Claus with me in round 1. My emphasis in the rest of this draft was to pack the roster with young offensive linemen so that we could avoid relying too heavily on past their prime linemen who are ready to break down physically. 10. On this draft. I traded down to #22 hoping that Fuaga would still be there, but he was gone, so I traded down a few more spots to #26 and added additional picks. Aside from not getting one of the top OTs, I think I would really like this draft, and it's one of my favorites because I addressed both the OL and receiving options significantly. With these additions to the OL, assuming that JD signed a couple of veteran OTs in FA, this OL could be very good. It's a bit of overkill for the IOL, but Tomlinson needs to go, and AVT may not be ready to play until the 2nd month of the season, if then. At the least, Suamataia could be the swing OT this season, and maybe even be able to start at RT this season. If Van Pran can switch to OG, great, if not, I put him at C, move Tippman to RG, and put Beebe at LG (when AVT came back, he would move to LG and stay there). At WR I added speed and excellent route running in Wilson, 6'7" height and great speed/athleticism in Johnny Wilson, and added a good blocking, and good receiving 6'6" TE in Wiley. That should give Rodgers plenty of protection and receiving options. 26. Kingsley Suamataia OT BYU 50. Sedrick Van Pran OC Georgia 53. Cooper Beebe OG Kansas State 57. Roman Wilson WR Michigan 72. Johnny Wilson WR Florida State 114. Jared Wiley TE TCU
I am thinking, there are three legitimate LT prospect in this draft (Joe Alt, the other dude from Penn State and Jordan Morgan.) Since first two are most likely out of reach, I chose to trade out of the first round, with the goal of picking up as many picks as I can in the 40~50's. Then - I decided to hoard more picks, and the result is above. True, I am missing out of the first round, but I am getting 2 2's, and 4 3's out of it. And good LT prospect AND good RT prospect while picking up a 2nd-round C plus a guard. Yes. I am very well aware that this is a stupid simulation, but I don't think it's such a bad idea to trade out of 1st round and target Jordan Morgan while picking up as many day 2 picks as possible.
Kingsley Suamataia is also a LT. While he likely will be drafted in the 1st or 2nd round, based on what I've read so far, I don't think Morgan is that good of a prospect. I could change my mind once I start watching video of prospects and read further scouting reports. The problem with your draft (aside from being unrealistic) is that a number of your picks aren't good scheme fits based on what I've read so far on them.(Frazier, Paul, Bortolini, Coleman and Zinter), and there may be more, as I haven't researched anyone likely to go after the 4th round.
Took a flyer from you. Another try. P.S. I have gone overboard with 2 OG picks. With Tippmann expected to slide out to OG, maybe 1 is sufficient. P.S. 2. I still have to figure out which C pick would be good fit for this team. 36. Kingsley Suamataia OT BYU 48. Christian Haynes OG UConn 63. Sedrick Van Pran OC Georgia 67.
