Dumb decision after dumb decision from Campbell. What a terrible play calling second half. I am not a Lions fan and even I am pissed
The run play right there cost them a timeout. They also could have kicked a fg with 1:46 left with all three timeouts saved. Error after error.
The only mistake Campbell made was not going for it on 4th before halftime. When you're the worse team, which the Lions were, you need to maximize variance. Field goals aren't automatic and receivers don't usually drop passes.
That was a Jets loss if I've ever seen one. That one's mostly on Campbell, just a terrible performance. Of course, the receivers suddenly thinking they were playing for the Jets didn't help either, but he's got to kick those two field goals he passed up on.
People only say this because of the benefit of hindsight. Making the decisions Campbell did works out more often than it doesn't. It just didn't work out this time, that's the way it goes. There's a strong argument the game would've been tied at the end had he gone for it on 4th down once more than he actually did.
