In short, Woody doesn't know who to hire and doesn't cut bait quick if it is clear the coach isn't working. It isn't the GM's or coaches or consultants. It is the owner. Woody has to go!
There are coaches that make players better, there are coaches that make certain players better and then there are coaches that can succeed in certain situations. We hire the third one. Gase was a bad hire and I personally think Saleh was too but nowhere near the level of Gase. Saleh can succeed just like Bowles if things break right because they’re good guys and good defensive coordinators. Pederson and Reid (shocking, from the same coaching tree) make the offensive that much better as well as hire a good respectable staff and despite their offensive skills, are true football CEO’s on the sideline and coaching field.

Jets are just wasting time in 2024. Missing out on the best list of candidates to stick with Saleh-Hackett, it will be another 7-10 or worse season. And when everyone gets fired next offseason we will end up with some cheap coordinator candidates as HC and some scout as GM, they wont have any connections to each other either
Yup, i've been saying this for days. We will have a choice between the equivalent of a homeless bum and a kid wet behind the ears fresh out of college. Setting us back another five years. I'm lucky to see this team get in the playoffs before I start collecting Social Security, which is much closer than I want to admit.

Saleh kind of reminds me of a strength & conditioning coach in all honesty. He’s a dude that slaps the edge rushers chest in the weight room after he benches 450. Not a guy who is going to make in game adjustments or out scheme someone. He was also on the verge of being fired until Nick Bosa came along and when Bosa got hurt his defense fell off a cliff compared to what it was with him. I voiced a lot of these concerns that he was a glorified hype man and I remember everyone talking about coming from the Shanahan coaching tree and working for Seattle and Pete Carroll and blah blah blah.
I'm all over this! Hell, during my commutes I listen to the NFL channel and THEY are all over it! To a man/woman, on that station, they are ALL talking about the Cowboys SHOULD HAVE fired McCarthy only to get someone like Bill B, Harbaugh or Carroll. Same is being floated in Philly. These are WINNING franchises with WINNING coaches and they are looking to get better! This is the best crop of head coaches in a long time. What do the Jets do? Champion mediocrity and sit on their "shit stick" spinning like they are happy about it. For fucks sake. The ONE damn year that Johnson SHOULD be firing asses and bringing in someone that can actually make a difference is the one year this team fucks it up!
