I think he's probably going to the Commanders. Historic franchise, close to his current location, Snyder gone, Drake Maye - it makes a lot of sense.
It is. 60% of their cap is locked into Mack, Bosa, Keenan Allen, Derwin James, and Mike Williams. Mack is nearly a $40m hit next year. Allen is another 30 or so. Both of those guys have to be restructured but they are also aging vets. Bosa probably will just get cut, you can't restructure that guy with how few games he plays. It is a disaster. It can be fixed for sure with a few restructures, but then you're just pushing the problem down the road like the Saints.
That made me LOL. Good one. So because it was built into his contract that he could be the next in line, it allowed the Patriots to promote him to replace Belichick without the need for additional interviews to comply with the NFL's Rooney Rule.
Phew! thank god on Mayo. Became concerned Vrabel was going to fall into their laps, the literal one guy in the whole "Patriot Way" universe who is not a complete and utter fraud and dipshit. Know nothing about Mayo, but he's got zero head coach/coordinator experience, if he is just going to follow the patriot way course ('do your job', be dick to media, underpay players, ignore skill positions, safe fundamental football, take every edge (legal or illegal) they going no where fast without brady.
To Robert Kraft's rub and tug credit, his precious 3 coaching hires were wise choices. Let's hope this one is the contrary.
There’s been a lot of positive chatter for a couple years in regards to Mayo’s coaching. I think it’s a good hire. All the experience is now gone there though, with a shit roster. There’s gonna be tough times ahead for NE, which is good for us.
nice symmetry Mo Lewis ushers in Brady Era w/ a savage hit.... Breece Hall ushers Belishit out with a one man offense, outgaining the entire NE oiffense
Eh….Parcells was already established when Kraft hired him. Carroll was not HOF worthy with NE he needed to go back to college to refine himself before coming back…and Belicheat got lucky with TB. So while you’re correct he hired 3 HOF coaches it wasn’t exactly because of Kraft’s “genius” ways….
Like Vrabel, Mayo was a player, so he might not be like the typical Belichick coaching tree failure. We'll have to see.
It displays sound hiring even if they didn't earn the HOF credentials during that stint. Who here thinks Adam Gase is going to the HOF with a different team?
He’s not. Neither is Todd Bowles or Herm or any of em. But Kraft is a business man just like the rest of em and he was more lucky than astute. Belicheat wanted to go to NE. They drafted TB with a 6th round pick. They got favorable playoff game deciding calls more than once. Pete Carroll (the other HOFer) handed them a SB on a silver platter. Hell they were even caught cheating and penalized twice for it…. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky then good.
I'm pretty sure it was the fact, that he is a minority, is what allowed them to promote him without complying with the Rooney Rule. If a team tried it with a white asst coach they would then have issues with the league.
