Exactly. Which is why I won't buy into any of the hype. If the Jets do have a good offseason with the draft and FA, then you know the local media will be hyping them up bigtime as Super Bowl contenders. I don't want to hear any of it. Show me by winning games starting in September. That is the only thing that matters.
Ha we'll see.... I'm sure I'll have some family down for this (depending on date) but dealing with my dad is like being in a Progressive commercial
I LITERALLY spit my coffee across the table when I saw that number! LOL! I don't see 4 wins and that's IF we SWEEP the Patriots. I don't see us being even close to the Cardinals. Can you slide that magic weed you are puffing on over to me?
Now that the opponents have been announced which poll gets posted first? The W - L record or the one about how many games Rodgers will start?
Slow day at work. Here is my crack at it with Rodgers. Without him, I think we will win 4 or 5 games at most. So I came with 11 wins. Too optimistic? Home: Bills - Win Dolphins - Loss Patriots - Win Texans - Win Colts - Win Rams - Loss Seahawks - Win Broncos - Win Away: Bills - Loss Dolphins - Loss Patriots - Win Jaguars - Win Titans - Win 49ers - Loss Cardinals - Win Vikings - Win Steelers - Loss
Same as this year for me. 10 or 11 wins with AR. Hopefully one of the Seattle or LAR games are at 1:00 EST Sunday. Very hard for a west coast team to come play 1 pm. SF game has prime time written all over it
Wow.. Whatever it is you got? I want a gallon Texans is a toss Seahawks - L Colts is a toss depending on who is QB. Minshew or ? Bills - L (another close game minus the miracle PR) JAX - L TENN. -L Broncos - toss. I count 5 - 7 wins WITH Kal EL. because of shit game planning mostly. We'll be in every game but we'll lose more close ones. Turf Monster gets Kal EL again? Look out below.
Need to see how the offseason plays out with FA and the draft for all teams before predicting the won/loss record. I will say if the Jets don't fix the OL, then it will be another crappy season.
So hard to do these so early … shit it’s even hard to do it after training camp when rosters are pretty settled…just so many variables. But to take the optimistic view, this team, with a HORRID OL and SHITTY QB play, managed to win 7 games, same as last year. IF Rodgers plays the season, it’s not too hard to imagine that we’d win at least 3 or 4 more games with him as QB compared to the shit show we had with Zach, Boyle, and Siemian. Of course, the biggest wildcard is how many games Rodgers plays, and if we assume typical Jets luck, that number is probably not 17 games…so sure it could be worse. I get the feeling that if Rodgers doesn’t play again, the defense will collapse and that will be the end of the JD/Saleh run, but we’ll see…
You know it's bad when you're planning to chill and grill so far in advance. Nothing says I fully expect the season to be in the toilet than, "Let's party!" in November . . . in January!
Home: Bills - Loss (Jets always start out slow and this past year was more about winning thanks to the adrenalin of Rodgers "starting" the game) Dolphins - Loss - We don't have the talent to compete and I expect this to be a blowout Patriots - Win - Here's where I feel we may get "lucky" and squeak a win on a rebuilding team. However, if they draft and its more Stroud than Young we lose and the NEXT streak begins Texans - Loss - They are going to come in and want revenge for making their playoff run more difficult in 2023 Colts - Win - For some strange reason we have the Colts number Rams - Loss - This is one of those teams that PROVES injuries don't have to be the problem. They have MORE o-line injuries than the Jets do yet are making the playoffs. Their improvement continues... Seahawks - Loss - Seriously? Geno Smith is going to come here and have a CAREER day on this Jets just because... Broncos - Loss - One more year of Payton (whom the Jets should have backed the Brinks truck up to) will have this team playing UP TO their talent level. Away: Bills - Loss - We're going to get HAMMERED by this team in their own house Dolphins - Loss, see the Bills game statement Patriots - Win - I just HAVE to believe that this team looks worse than the Jets do while on their rebuilding path. Sadly, as stated before, if they end up with more Stroud than Young the Jets are doomed. Jaguars - Loss - Seriously? Lawrence is the one guy that's going to make the Jets pay, during his entire tenure in the league, because the Jets screwed up the draft positioning with a useless win and not being able to pick him over Wilson. Titans - Win - This team is in full rebuild mode and we can't lose them all...can we? 49ers - Loss - The Jets better be careful or this game will be a loss by more than 30... Cardinals - Loss - On the fence with this one but give it to the Cardinals due to home field. Vikings - Loss/Win - this is my 50/50 game and could go either way depending upon when it is scheduled and how well Cousins is playing. Steelers - Loss/Win - If the Jets get the Squeelers early in the season this could be a win. If they get them late in the season and a Pittsburg playoff berth is on the line the Jets will get hammered because it's what they do. I have this team sitting at 4/5/6 and 13/12/11 WITH Rodgers. I don't have them winning jack and shit more than 3 or 4 without him and that's being VERY generous. This team is going to trot out the exact same shitty undisciplined coaching staff that they had in 2023 and I suspect that the Jets will lose at LEAST 3 games on penalties alone. Gear up my beaten and downtrodden friends, 2024 is going to be a LAUGHING stock and I have ZERO expectations for anything more than an uber shit show. This team doesn't have the cap space to simply throw money at FA's, which is what will be required to get anyone to come here. That means whatever this team is capable of picking up in the draft, low end street FA's who are marginal and/or trades is about all we are going to see. I find it utterly hilarious when I read threads talking about free agency. NO ONE worth two shits is going to come to a team where the ENTIRE front office SHOULD have been fired THIS year only to watch them most assuredly get fired NEXT year. No one is going to sign on for that. Another thing, if anyone thinks there will be a Zach Wilson trade I have news for you. There won't. NO ONE is going to trade for someone the Jets are just going to release. Not anyone with any intelligence at any rate. I absolutely HATE the fact that, for the first time in my life, I KNOW next year is going to suck ass. There was always a sliver of hope seasons past...not in 2024...
