as mentioned before - the thing that leaves you feeling queasy is that if the Jets do somehow win they will all be fist pumping and acting like it's some huge statement win :(

So? The Browns and Lions had rolling top ten picks for multiple decades in a row and they wasted a ton of them without ever benefitting from it.

And how many teams really think about this before week 17 or 18? How many take noticeable action to make this happen?

It’s a nothingburger in this league really. Teams can’t really afford to bench a bunch of players to actively lose because the risk of injury is too high and the rosters aren’t big enough.

    I vote Jets to win.

Hope it snows like a Banshee! Love those sloppy snow shrouded games!

I'll pound a few Guinness and nod off without consequence...

*shrug* I think it would be an interesting change to make and help make the focus of the final few weeks not be all about losing

It will be a statement win.

Fuck draft position... sending Belichick off with a loss is worth something in my opinion.

how can it be as statement win if the other term is effectively taking a dive?

the only statement it gives is "We don't know how to play smart" (as was evident from that win over the Rams)

    you really think so?

the guy has won 6 super bowls and completely owned the Jets his previous employer.

No one is even going to remember that the Jets beat him once in a meaningless week 18 game with backup QBs on both sides

As much as I’d love to beat the fucking Patriots, I’d MUCH rather lose this game and let the draft position fall where it may…likely won’t get much better as there are what, three teams with only 5 wins? A couple of them would have to win this weekend.

But it would be SO Jets to beat the Pats and end up with pick 12 instead of 8

I know it’s only 4 spots down but there is a big difference there…

Yeah... calling it a "statement win" is downright silly considering our standings in the division.... it's basically a cripple fight.

But (possibly) handing Belichick his final Loss as the HC of the Pats... should be the goal.

Jets losing this game will annoy entire Patriots fan base. So I hope we lose and those Massholes drop out of Top 3 in the draft order. Come on Pats. You can do it.

Not only that, but the loss moves him into a tie for most losses of all time with Jeff Fisher and Dan Reeves. I would love it if the Jets were the team that gave him that mark after all of the pain he's inflicted on us.
