Last game of the season. What will happen? Potentially last game of hoodie. Will he want to go out with a win that will push Pats out of Top 2 pick in upcoming draft or lose to secure a better spot for Pats even though he might not be there?
Jets will win because it will hurt us more than it hurts them and it's the Jets way and we will then have to put up with the staff beating their chests about what a statement win it was, shows the culture, fighting until the end etc etc even though it's obvious the Pats are in full tank mode.
We have no concept of draft position or simply don't give a shit so, I suspect Belichek will tank, the Jets will win, Saleh will be all over the tri-state news media crowing about how great this roster is and how he can't wait for next year when Kal El returns.
I feel like if Belichick was all that concerned with draft position then we wouldn't have seen the improvement in his team over the month of December. If he were tanking to help the Pats after he's fired (which would be a funny idea to me anyway, why help the people who are getting rid of you), then the wins over Denver and Pittsburgh weren't exactly moves in the direction of helping that cause and putting up good fights against Buffalo and KC doesn't exactly lend itself to the idea that this team is packing it in. Belichick isn't going to want to go out with a loss to the Jets. They are going to try. Belichick is also just one loss away from joining Dan Reeves and Jeff Fisher for the most losses of all time. I would just love for that loss to come against the Jets. It could help salvage at least some of the misery he's inflicted on us over the past 23 years.
I think the Pats will win. BB won't want to go out on a loss to the Jets, he'll have them ready to play on Sunday in Foxboro. Locking in a Top 8 pick and knocking the Pats out of the Williams/Maye sweepstakes would probably be worth letting the streak continue though.
As much as I HATE the Pats, this is a game we have to lose. Period. There is absolutely NOTHING to gain by winning this meaningless game other than a quick temporary feel good in the moment thing for the players and coaches. But the strategic view is more important now. From what I’m reading, we can be as high as 5 overall to as low as 12 overall. That’s a HUGE difference. Feels like there are 2 top QBs, then Harrison at WR, then the 2 OTs …. Ending at 5 would guarantee one of those guys which would be great. I think chances of ending 5th are super low as those 5 win teams all have to win, which is unlikely, but man I certainly would prefer to lose and at least maintain 8 or improve by a spot or two than win and end up at 12.
I cant root against the Jets, and especially for the hated Pats. But I know how valuable a loss would be to. What a game. However, its the last time we have to watch this offense. So there's that.
Without a doubt we are gonna win. It's destiny, the Hoodies last game against the hated Jets. We will fall down to the 11th or 12th pick....it never fails
I am guessing Trevor as the Jets won't want to lose the last shred of trade value they have left in ZW - Siemian vs Zappe - this will be a tussle for the ages
If Belichick’s coming back to NE next year, surely he’s going to tank for Maye and throw the game. If he’s not coming back, then he’ll play to win, and it’ll probably be 50/50 who wins the game.
