Ravens crush Fins, they clinch first overall seed, and Buffalo plays the Dolphins for the AFC East next week.
I guess the Giants weren't tanking, but they sure made loads of mistakes at the end to give the game away.
I think it was ultimately 3 plays in a row. It’s really WWE at this point. We need to start looking into what the books biggest liabilities are every week.
NFL officiating crew that oversaw controversial Lions-Cowboys ending 'downgraded' for postseason p.s. Goodell cashed his weekly million $ paycheck without incident.
Between the call last night against the Lions, the way the Jets have played this year and today's game in KC, I've basically lost all interest in this sport.
It feels like officiating is a disaster in every major sport. Baseball umps miss a hilarious number of balls and strikes every season. NBA reffing feels completely arbitrary and travels/carries get missed all the time. NFL reffing has gotten worse over time and has reached atrocious levels this year. Simplify the rules and bring on the robo refs.
Hot take: The refs are what they've always been. What's changed is fans see all the blown calls and share them over and over on social media.
I agree mostly but the NFL in particular has also added a monster amount of penalties to the arsenal of referees which they over call. I get that they can’t let guys get their heads taken off (ala Antonio Brown/Vontazr Burfict) or QBs get smoked 4 steps after they threw the ball. But they’ve also allowed Mahomes and others to stop short of going out of bounds then put a toe on the white to get lightly shoved and act like they just got stone cold stunnered. My favorite is the QB slide after the defender starts their form tackle and they light grace the QBs shoulder pad and the QB gets up complaining like they just got shot with a sniper bullet.
