Just wondering if a mantra has ever been as far from reality as this hyperbole that Salah rolls out. Team as a whole very rarely plays a full game and for last 3 years we have crawled to the season end. Playing the exact opposite of the above tagline. Woody giving this whole crew another 12 months is frankly beyond belief.Howevrr the fact he was walking around pre season like all we had to do was turn up and teams would roll over sums the complacency within the core of this franchise.
I’ve always thought it was a strange mantra. I get what he’s going for but the end result is either running out of gas or crashing and burning in it.
Funny, I thought the exact same thing. All Gas, No brakes usually means crash and burn. I guess Saleh was right all along.
The best thing about it is the way it is so easy to twist according to their performance - such as - No Brakes, No Steering Wheel - Steep Hill, No Brakes - Bad Gas, Sore Guts etc etc
It is dumb for sure but that’s being a little bit nitpicky. The Panthers had “keep pounding” as their slogan for a while. A lot of teams have dumb stuff like that. It usually means something to the guys in the locker room though.
Let’s not forget folks, this is a championship caliber roster with championship caliber leadership. We were only a QB away. Championship caliber defense. Yup.
I think it's a great logo for this franchise. It is a metaphor that illustrates lack of forethought, lack of discipline, lack of preparation. He should have just picked "Wildin' Out" because it's basically the same thing. It's also a great explanation for why we keep crashing into brick walls and trees.
They took a delay of game in Cleveland territory, so they could be farther away to punt it to Cleveland last night… down by 17 they play the opposite of whatever that mantra is trying to convey
And McDonald is going to be a "superstar"! Not just a solid pro, regular contributor, Pro Bowler, All-Pro, but a Superstar according to the bearded doofus. Considering their current roster has only 2 players with super star potential (GW and Quinnen W) why say something so completely devoid of reality based on what we've seen so far of the guy?
They took a delay of game on the goal line because they were too close to kick a field goal and then got it blocked anyway. Also down by 17 Robert Saleh is going to need to rent a warehouse for all of those unanswered receipts.
All those pre-snap penalties sure did put the brakes on plenty of drives... And listen...I get why Saleh started using these phrases when he took over the team... it was pretty dire in the locker room after two years of Adam Gase. But once the inspirational slogans turn to shibboleths... it just makes the Jets,,, and Saleh... look foolish. It's time to come up with some new... more reasonable... catchphrases. Maybe something like "Show Us the Door in '24!"
I'd be OK (somewhat) with crashing and burning. Saleh's never even gotten the proverbial plane off the runway.
The entire organization seems to have developed a case of false bravado ever since Rex came here and talked shit. It has never once been able to back anything up.
