Well specifically, they are 1 spot ahead of the Jets in draft order and have 1 less win, so this one is especially important. JUST LOSE BABY!
I hope Jets trade down as many times as they can and accrue as many picks in the top 100 as possible. They don't need to pick a QB this year. There. I said it. No QB this year. First three rounds should be all on OL. With AVT and Tippman already on board, that should settle the fucking OL issue once and for all. Jets QBs will suck again next year, so we will tank again come December again. Rodgers will be on IR again, and Zach will be excavating the cellar to dig out the lowest possible bar for a QB performance in NFL history (and gone afterward. THANK FUCKING GOD!!)
This week's rooting guide, if you're rooting for the tank: Jets lose Cardinals beat Bears Giants beat Eagles I believe these outcomes would move us up to the 5th pick but could set us up to get up to 3rd at the end of the year if the Cardinals win 1 more game in the last 2 weeks. Bears/Cardinals game could be viewed as a win/win for us. Either the Bears win and we jump them and maybe get as high as 4th after this week or the Cardinals win and then we're only 1 game back from jumping them. Additionally: Chargers beat Bills Titans beat Seahawks These aren't are super important because we hold a fairly significant SOS tiebreaker over the Chargers and Titans but it would give us some breathing room from a W/L perspective. The tank gets into scary season if we win this game as we could fall all the way back to the 12th pick.
I'm just happy I'm rooting for a tank in December instead of October like in so many previous years. But is there any doubt that the Jets will win the Washington game this weekend?
Yup, this is the Jets we're talking about after all. They'll probably run the table now that we've officially been eliminated from playoff contention and end up with the 15th pick.
A win today likely pushes us out of the top 10 I believe. At that point I guess I'll at least feel less conflicted rooting for a end of season win vs the Pats.
Lucked into a "win" more than anything. Washington did everything they could to give us the game in the 1st half. A home loss here after 20 point lead against one of the worst teams in NFL would have gone a long to convince Woody to clean house.
that is what's been reported (sadly) at least this time around we were never going to be in the running for a really high draft pick so it's not as bad as the win against the Rams that set this franchise back a decade
I'll always take a win, but extremely Jetsy to have a 100% unconvincing win after being eliminated from the playoffs.
this was the worst of both worlds as they won screwing themselves in the draft and only just managed to win against a terrible team that tried to hand them to the game on a silver tray
Still embarrassed themselves, dropped multiple positions in the draft, and ensured the FO who embarrassed us for years is coming back. Great "win"!
I actually think it is the opposite. I want to believe (though I am not sure at all) that JD realizes we need help at OLine. So, if he has a #4, 5, 6, and say Joe Alt is there, he would take him, since he is very highly ranked prospect. Essentially even JD, who misses all the time when it comes to OLine, would luck out into a good pick just because it was so high. But now at 9-13 range, the obvious choices will be gone, and it's McD time all over again. The fact JD is staying AND doesn't have high enough pick to pick obvious top Olinemen, we are playing Russian Rillette again. And you know how it ends when JD pulls the trigger on the OLine.
