Good win last night. Needed that after the Sharks game. Big test on Saturday night vs LA. The Kings set an NHL record by winning their first 11 games on the road last night. It would be nice if the Isles could give them their first road loss this season.
Nice win vs the Kings on Saturday. Gave them their 1st road loss of the year. Despite this team's obvious flaws, they manage to pick up points in most games. Hopefully they get another win tonight vs the Leafs.
13-7-7 for 33 points. Only 6 back of the Rangers who are having a great season. The "loser" points make all the difference. Over 82 games you will have losses obviously but if you can get them to OT to get a point it helps out a lot. Only 7 regulation losses in 27 games. For all of their flaws they are having a decent season so far.
Obviously wins are better than losses, but it was another blown third-period lead, so let's not get too excited just yet (and on Tavares' 1000th career point, which is hardly an Islander highlight moment). Speaking of Tavares, it's hard to believe that he is in his 15th season in the league. With a lifetime plus/minus of -29 (and -14 in the playoffs), he hasn't had the kind of career I think he thought he would.
4-0-1 so far on this 6-game home stand. 4-game winning streak and 6-0-1 in their last 7. 14-7-7 for 35 points only 4 points behind the Rangers. Big test coming up Friday night when Boston visits UBS. We never seem to beat these guys. I will be thrilled with even 1 point in this game, but I think we get regulation loss #8 here. I hope I am wrong.
Nice win over the Oilers last night. After giving up a goal two minutes into the game I thought this would be another one of those lousy nights. But they shut them down after that for a nice 3-1 win. Also, good to nip the losing streak in the bud coming off an OT loss and regulation loss to the B's and Habs.
Picked up a point on the road in a B2B situation with their 3-2 OT loss. Not bad as for once the Isles rallied in the 3rd period instead of blowing a lead. 3 out of a possible 4 points these last two nights is pretty good. Also, only 8 regulation losses in 32 games. 15-8-9.
Pretty bizarre that Ovechkin has gone 14 straight games without scoring a goal. He looked like a shoo-in to breaks Gretzky's career goals record, but not like this.
quite a showing tonight... 6 goals allowed in the 2nd period. Curious why they didn't pull Sorokin after 4 or 5.
7-0 in the 3rd period. Got our asses kicked. Move on and rebound (hopefully) vs the Caps on Friday night.
