Well, Sunday sucked... Even though the wife and I had some friends over, I kept the game on the TV, albeit in the bottom right corner of the quad box on YouTube TV, and it was just painful stuff to watch. Defense laid another egg, offense laid it's usual egg. Total systems failure all around. As much good will as the Texans win gave Saleh and JD, all that's gone now. To the point where I think it's becoming more and more possible that we see Woody clean house this offseason. Any way, on to the Commanders. They're also a pretty bad team but they have a decent offense that's capable of putting some points on the board. Luckily for us, their defense is awful, maybe the worst in the league. Going into Week 15, they were allowing the most yards per game, most passing yards per game, and the most points per game by a decent margin (allowing 30.4 PPG, Panthers are 2nd worst at 26.2). They were middle of the road against the run game (17th fewest yards) though. Not sure if this week changes those figures but you all get the picture. This is a game where if the offense continues to look anemic, you have to strongly consider removing Hackett, at least as the primary play-caller, and if this team looks unprepared again, Saleh's seat will continue to heat up. With only 3 games left, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see this team quit on the CS and if that happens, no one should be safe in this organization. We're staring down the barrel of a 5-12 season where we started 4-3. Not sure how you keep a CS that allows that to happen.
I live in the DMV (the DC area). I despise everything about and connected to the Washington Football Team including their ignorant, front-running fans. I understand draft positioning and the benefits of a loss but I want the Jets to win and win big but I doubt that will happen. As stated, WSH has a decent offense and the Jets D will get tired and disinterested in this non-conference game in a half-filled stadium.
Slate of CBS 1:00 games is pretty unappealing.... but sadly I'm hoping they show Cleveland @ Houston instead of this trash... How far this season has fallen
Not really sure who wins this game. Washington stinks, but I think they can muster at least 1 touchdown vs us which is probably enough unless Breece does something special. I really hope Zach sits so we have no shot here. I wish Washington stuck with Brissett for this one over Howell.
What is the over/under for the number of fans who show up for this game on Christmas Eve. I will say 40,000 at most.
I would hammer the under on that. I'm thinking 25k tops. Tickets will be $5 come Sunday. $10 for good seats. Some people will give them away for free.
Rosenblatt said on his live show that he does not see a scenario that the HC comes back if they lose this Sunday.
Season ticket holders give away their tickets to neighbors with children and the parents can (finally) take their kids to a game.
Talk about losing the locker room. Garrett Wilson was at his breaking point last week with Nathaniel Hackett. You know the offensive guys would quit if they haven't already. The defense would likely be miffed as well, since they performed reasonably well at the expense of the putrid offense they would be shocked to see the offensive coordinator as the new HC If they made Hackett the interim HC every guy would/could quit. It wouldnt be out of the question to see something like we saw from the Chargers last week in their 63-21 loss
I think they would elevate the meat head before Hackett. Elevating Hackett would be dropping a hydrogen bomb on north Jersey.
On game days I always root for a win…just can’t watch and cheer for a loss However, I think a loss here, then Cleveland and then NE would be the best long term outcome. Better draft slot May lead to coaching change May lead to GM change Who knows what can happen…
