THIS ^ a 1000%! First, this franchise - including Douglas - has shown no ability to identify QB talent, so the highest probability would be that they draft the absolute wrong guy. Second, even if somehow, they caught lightning in a bottle and get the best guy, they'd only ruin him as they have so many other young QBs. Until the Jets completely reverse their "Defense wins championships" focus, and hire people who know how to build and coach a 21st century offensive team, they shouldn't even think of drafting a QB.
Given what an obvious sleazeball he is, I think Woody might be able to be "catfished", and then forced by the NFL to sell the team. One can hope anyway.
Drafting a QB as the top 5 is NOT the answer. Trade back draft and get more top picks. Build a foundation in OL, and build WRs/TE depth.
I was thinking more along the lines of The King of Comedy... With Kelsey Grammer as team owner and Samuel L. Jackson as the disgruntled fan.
Right there with you. I did not renew my season tix 2 years ago, and now after this total debacle I wont step foot into any stadium the Jets are playing in moving forward. I wont buy Merch and l 'm done watching this S@#% Show. I've been going to games since my grandfather started taking me in the 70's to Shea when our season tickets were his - they had since been passed to my dad and then on to me. This owner, who doesn't care about any fan, winning, being respected, or anything of that nature has taken something that was a weekly joy in my family for the better part of my 50+ year on this planet and flat out ruined it. And he doesn't care that I didn't renew, and that I will no longer buy single game tickets and wont be buying gear or going to training camps etc. There is some other Schlubb that will take the tickets and buy the merch. One of the top 3 worst owners in North American Sports...
Now you need to talk to the Groundhog Day people. The Jets have been following that script for decades.
Your comments are inconsistent at best. Those of us better rooted in reality have been criticized for years for telling it like it is by being told we're haters, not real fans and should find a different team to root for. Regardless of how often it was repeated we did not believe Zach Wilson would take us to the promised land, we even doubted Aaron Rodgers would. In the meantime the jeers came down upon us from those flying above on their unicorns. I suppose we may just have different views of loyalty - I'll never believe it must be blind.
If only we had a GM who was even remotely capable of pulling this off. Our clown GM (and I apologize to clowns everywhere for comparing him to them) would probably spend those extra picks on multiple defensive linemen. I mean, you can never have enough. Am I right there Joe?
Ridiculed year after year even though we were right year after year. One of my biggest pet peeves. The poster formerly known as broomulack - was time for a change.
Bill Belicheck has won 13 straight against us. Maybe 12, I don’t know. Either way, I’m certain that man would never jeopardize that kind of winning streak. I’m pretty sure if he has his way he’d beat us into oblivion for the rest of his days.
Ewww. My God that’s just hard to do. Belicheck will kill his own children before giving up on this streak for draft status.
I could see Belichick not caring about the winning streak/tanking in that game under some circumstances. I think he recognizes they need a QB in the draft. If this was last year or 3 years ago, yeah he probably does tank. But they are saying it could be his last game on the Patriots sideline. Belichick's last game in Foxboro? against the Jets? you kiddin me he's gonna want to win and put up a big number
