We don’t know if it’s a meaningless game yet. If it’s the only game the Jets win the rest of the year and Zach goes back to sucking, then it is clearly a meaningless game. If the Jets win the rest and Zach looks like a top tier NFL starter then it could be the beginning of a great Jets era. Anything in between is difficult to assess. Going out winning 4 out of 5 and Zach looking like a borderline starter with potential to develop more, is that better than losing 10 in a row and a row and drafting a guy that looks great in college but an unknown in the pros for the teams mentality heading into next year? If the team tanks will that lure to free agents for next year, will winning the rest of the games with Rogers coming back do that? If you are still looking at how good the team will be next year it is not necessarily as simple as where they will pick in next year’s draft.

Players don’t tank especially as they are playing for a spot and money.

Of course the jets were going to win a game or two during remaining games because the defense is too good.

Well, even if the Jets had managed to get the Tank right, they would have fucked up the pick anyway....

I’m worried about the false hope we just got. If Zach can do that against Miami and win out the rest of the season, the future is looking pretty bright regardless of if we make the playoffs. It means he turned that corner we’ve been hoping he’d turn. All JD has to do is hit on our pick.

If he regresses again, well yeah we only saw a glimmer and it was a meaningless game

We see it all the time in the draft. The guy picked at 10, 11, 12, etc. out performs the top 5 dude and has a better career.

I'm all for seeing this team win some games down the stretch. Whether we like it or not, the core of this team will likely remain unchanged for next year. Let's get some positive momentum heading into next year.

Plus, this is a very, very deep OL class. Whether we pick at 5 or 15, there will likely be an upgrade available for us at OT.

we aren’t going to be taking a quarterback no matter what. Of course plenty of us would love to but in reality there’s no way in hell we were going into next season with 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers and not using our first round draft pick on anything other than a piece that will help us win now. as mentioned above this draft class has some serious depth at tackle, we can find one of the best in the 7 to 10 range.

we’ve barely had anything to cheer about for the better part of two months. Hell the only thing we had to cheer about since last year ended up lasting four plays. Just fucking enjoy something for once. Who gives a shit about draft position if we aren’t taking a quarterback?

The good news is, we get to see this vs a legit team again next week in Miami.

maybe this salvages ZW, hoping he goes down the Geno Smith route and needed time. But chances are, he will go back to what he was before.

MHJR is supposed to be a higher rated or just as highly rated as Calvin Johnson, that's something to be excited about IMO.

Nabers or Odunze will be fine though if we go that route at WR. I'm with it.

The only way I'll be annoyed over yesterdays win is if they end up losing out or lose 3 of their next 4

Harrison wouldn’t get past the Cardinals and we wouldn’t be jumping them anyway.

All we had to was lose out and Arizona win one game (they play Chicago and W18 Seattle) and were guaranteed 2 or 3. He was very well in play before our win yesterday. Moot point now.

Go win 3 of 4 to end the season.

Guys, the jets were not drafting Marvin Harrison Jr or a QB. Rooting for a tank to draft a OT is pathetic.

Why don't i think they will draft Harrison Jr? Cause they are going to most likely fill the WR via Adams or Mike Evens way before the draft. If they ever had a chance to get the 2nd or #3 pick, they probably would have traded down. This team needs wins

Getting Adams or Evans on the north side of 30 rather than Tee Higgins or Michael Pittman if they hit the open market is the epitome of why the Jets are a poorly run franchise.

Higgins is going to cost an arm and a leg and we don’t have many of those left. Pittman could be cheaper. I’d love either plus an OT wherever we pick.

The time line of getting Higgins doesn't work with Garret Wilson. Adams and Evens 2-3 year contacts could expire when its time to pay Garret.

Your not going to be able to give Tee Higgins a TOP of the market WR a 4-5 year deal and then turn around to pay Garret something similar.

Plus this team NEEDS vets that could really play. Mike Evans is a 1k WR every year and would be great to have for 2-3 years

I am with you guys for the most part. I wasn't necessarily rooting for a tank so we could get a good player, I was hoping we would first, assure ourselves that there will be no debate about Zach Wilson over the off-season, but also being in a position to maybe trade the pick for more assets. I am staunchly anti-drafting a quarterback.

I also would like to see the young guys on this team get some wins under their belt so they learn how to do so instead of only being involved in the Johnson Brothers and Douglas and Saleh Circus all the time.

My only fear is that if Wilson continues to put up good games, they will stick with him next year. I've seen all I need to see from him, and a couple of good games is not going to change my mind. I'm hoping it doesn't change theirs either.

    This x10.

But are you going to remember taking this stance when the upcoming off-season actually rolls around, it indeed ends up being Adams, and I once again constantly find myself pointing out what should otherwise be yet another obvious connect-the-dots connection on how bringing in Rodgers continues to not being worth acquisition cost considerations that had to come with him? ;)

I was much less concerned with the Jets screwing up a top 4 pick, that likely would have picked itself, then I am now looking at the 9th'ish range we sit at today.
