I guess they mutually agreed to part ways. He didn't play much but still how does this crap happen the day before a game?
I think the pattern right now is to cut someone so another player can be elevated from the PS and start on the Oline the rest of the season.
JD is losing it. Amos played very well for us, better than Adams and Whitehead actually when he got a chance. One of the better signings after Clark injury. Hanging on to his draft pick Ashtyn Davis I guess like baby to a mother's tit. Now someone else will get a good safety. Maybe he is tanking already.
Idunno if that’s really fair. This is pretty much a nothingburger. Amos is a 30 year old mercenary safety that was brought here for a playoff push and likely isn’t on the team next year. Our safeties as a group have been good because you never notice them so I don’t know how you can analyze that one’s been better than the other. He was basically useless to us the rest of the year. Let him go play for the Chiefs or Lions and try to win a ship rather than drown here with the rest of em.
I thought when Adams went down he did well. He may not be better but he is a solid guy. I just don't like to give away good players. Unless of course we tank, which I am now thinking to give it another game . But I guess JD started early. Maybe he started after the 4th snap of the game 1.
We sure are a nice team to sign a guy for a guaranteed couple million and then just release him to go play for a better team. Its not like we'd want him on the PS in case of injuries.
Kyle Pitts hasn't done jack shit all season. Why does it feel like he's going for 150 and 2TDs tomorrow?
They should stop saying "released" and start saying emancipated. I'm sure that's how it feels to leave this team.
vet player on the backend of his career being a backup on a bad team. he's walking after this year and not playing. it gives him a chance to go to a contender and saves us a little cap room for a player that was insurance. we know we don't need insurance at this point as the season is over for us. saves us 300k in cap room we can roll over for next year
funny things is most people here remember when the playbook was an actual physical book. Now it's a tablet and probably can be remote wiped and lock players out of it remotely.
They don't give a shit about the playbook. They are getting the signals. Which means the Jets have to abandon a bunch of the signals they've been using all season, which means there will be blown defensive plays... more than last week anyway.
Looks like JD's plan to tank by releasing Amos is working. Just recovered a fumble on 2 yard line which likely would have been the difference in the game.
