This is actually a very good move for the whole situation. Now we know that the idea that Woody wouldn't let them bring in another QB because he had already spent enough money at that position is complete BS. If that was the case, we wouldn't be bringing in another QB when the season is over. So this season is now, 100% completely on Joe Douglas. And any doubt that he should be fired immediately, not that there should be any anyway, is completely erased. He must go, and he must go now. Enough is enough with this nonsense Woody.

 

Sure there was ... sign an NFL-caliber backup QB (and actually fix the offensive line).

Another Hack guy from the time in Denver. I am sure he sucks, though I am a little sad we waived Boyle. Seeing that guy play, when actually surprisingly the O line stepped up for about half the game, gave real hope for losing out, a top draft pick and clean house.

 

We carried Boyle (Boyle!!!) for 75% of the season as a main back-up or a starter. I mean this is such a bad look for JD. And finally, when the season is effectively over, he waives him. You can't make this shit up.

Releasing Boyle was legitimately the stupidest thing we could've done. We aren't making the playoffs, we should be tanking. Saleh and Douglas must be feeling their seats warming up.

 

zach being one of the worst starters would still make him a high tier backup. we also had too much money invested in the QB position already to bring in an another expensive backup. there are other factors involved in signing players it's not just madden and the QB is 1 issue of many for our offense. the lazy take is to blame the QB

 

we had to release him or simian to make room for rypien. boyle likely goes back to the PS anyway

Agreed…I HATED that move as soon as it was announced…we just saw the exact same dumbass move when we hired Gase as soon as he was fired…hey…we need an offensive coach…great let’s go get THIS guy…it was stupid with Gase and we all knew it and it was stupid with Hacket and most of us knew it too. I only begrudgingly accepted it (not that I have any say or control in the matter) because I knew Rodgers wanted him and that was that.

But just like everyone else Rodgers wanted here…Cobb, Turner, Lazard, Boyle, they ALL suck.
