I saw that. I just wanted to make the discussion more about what to do if the mock draft goes down like that, as opposed to talking about the mock itself. And, also, I wanted to add a poll.

Passing on Jarvis Moss would be a joke, though I can't imagine the Patsies passing on him at 24.

Question--I read a lot about Carriker, and was very impressed by his play in the Auburn Bowl ga,e. Is it a forgone conclusion he'll be gone by 25? (though I'd take Moss over him either way)

As much as I adore Paul Posluszny, he won't be there by the time our turn to draft comes around. I'm betting he goes in the top, oh say, 15. jmo. :)

I think we need a good RB. :)

If the above players are the only choices (meaning that Revis, Lynch and Tyler are off the board) then I would take Kenny Irons. I think that he's got the vision and physical tools to be a successful back in the NFL, and I think that we could get a CB as good as Hughes in th 2nd round (watch out for Fred Bennett from South Carolina.)

Yeah, I watched Fred Bennet a lot this year and think he would be a great fit to play CB in our system. We could probably get him with our second second round pick.

id go with blalock my guess is if we have to rebuild the line we might go all the way threw with it and again this year address the o line so we could have a semi decent run/passing game

I'm sure that Tangini has learned from Parcells that you build from the line(s) out. And drafting Justin Blalock would go a long way to estabishing an OL that would be (could be) a force for 10+ years...

Justin Blalock plays OG and T and is projected as a dominating run blocker. WOW. 2 positions. Is not Tanging always discussing the importance of versatility in players.

And how great would it be if you can go out and get Steinbach from the Bengals...The OL would not only be set for some time (Knedall has 3 years left) think about the DEPTH we would have on the OL. Keep Moore and Clement (both are cheap and would be the prototypical "hold the fort type guys" if need be for a game or two)

If both happened the OL would be:

Ferguson - Kendall - Mangold - Steinbach - Blalock. With 4 (count them 4) very versatile, cheap, dependable back-ups..... Moore, Clement, Jones, Smith
