Flacco dealing on the road with a week of practice. His leading receiver is Elijah Moore so far.

How could he have ever learned the four plays in Hacketts playbook?

I mean could anyone disagree that this team is just cursed. no matter who comes here who plays here who leaves here. It's the same story every time.

Watched his opening td drive and the network swapped over to the Philly 49er's game.

    He looked good...

I like to call it the Jets Tax. Being on this team drags players productivity.

Flacco reminds me of Testaverde: big, strong arm and throws a beautiful ball.

When the guy is given time he can still sling it with ease and Cleveland has a better than average Oline, unlike anything we had when he made starts for us.

Flacco's been off the couch for a week and just put up a better game than any Jets QB this season-- with his #1 WR out, LT out, #1 RB out......

I know I’ve said this before, but the best football game I’ve ever been to in person was New Hampshire versus Delaware. Ricky Santos vs. Joey Flacco. Ricky actually played in the CFL for a while and is now the head coach at UNH. It was like watching cartoons, men against boys.

Flacco was fun to watch last season too. 2nd game, at the Browns, down by 2 TD with under 2 mins to play....Flacoo/CD84/Garrett pull off the impossible....grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat...sent the Brownies home stunned!

That was the game the Browns were honoring that stupid mascot (can't recall the name) with his picture on the 50 yrd line. I remember that, and Flacco jumping up and down in the locker-room like a Mexican jumping bean! And his kids telling him after his looked like a dork! (he did).

Browns were probably hoping for the same Flacco that crushed their very soul last year.

Look at us waxing poetic about Joe Flacco... I miss Joe Flacco too.
    What a cruel season

Can’t imagine Flacco and Rodgers would work. I couldn’t see the jets bringing in anyone who ever had success in the league before, after Rodgers went down. They have givin Rodgers the daddy role

Guys, Flacco is washed and he sucks. All of the sudden he did not get better with age. You all saw him play in Miami last year at the end of the season or how he came into Buffalo game and immediately fumbled. He is very similar to Siemian at this stage of his career. And yet on Browns he came in and on a few days notice put up 2 TDs. The difference is that they have a better Oline and also their WRs occasionally get open. But Flacco is not any good. Not as bad as Boyle (no NFL QB is) but still about Siemian level 3d stringer. He could not function on the Jets after AVT went down last year and OL was as bad as it is now, but he can function when given some protection with the Browns.

The Jets don't have any protection nor running game. No back-up QB can succeed here. If anything Flacco is a proof of that. Did all right for Browns this year while was a tackling dummy for us at the end of last year.

Firm believer in some sort of cosmic shit with this team, and even firmer believer in the Same Old Jets.

People can make fun of that all they want, but it doesn't make sense to ridicule person who is always right.

Cosmic shit notwithstanding, there is a logical explanation to all of this, which is what I was trying to say in the other thread. It's not just the QB that's been the problem with the Jets ever since JD took over. We played 7 different QBs including Flacco. Not even just play caller, as last year against Miami when Flacco was bitch slapped MILF was calling plays. Now he got good again? No. The piece of shit OLine is the constant for as long as JD has been here. And yes QBs are not good too, play caller sucks too. But with the OLine in place a back-up QB (except Boyle) can occasionally function and score a few points here and there. That's why you see Flacco do it for Browns and not for us. That's why you saw Zach having a few moments sometimes. But without the O line we are fucked. It is a foundation for the offense, and we just don't have it.

Believe me, I am not basing anything cosmic or superstitious on this year, or even this regime. I don't know how long you've watched this team, but I have been watching it for 42 years. This has been the case all that time with a couple of very rare exceptions. But even during those exceptions, like the Parcells years, and early in the Rex years, the team still managed to do things so mind-bogglingly backwards that you just can't fathom it. The ability to do everything possible to destroy its chances to move forward, a Jets hallmark.

I've been watching since the 90s, and I believe I finally had what alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity. Get rid of JD and hire Alec Halaby. Get rid of Saleh. It may not be largely his fault, but you need a successful offensive coach who calls plays as a HC. Let the new GM build the OLine, which can be done in one offseason if it is prioritized, and it must be prioritized. Then ride what's left of Rodgers for as long as he is playing well and then let the GM handle it from there.

I won't pretend to know much about Alex Halaby other than working his way up the Philly organization, but I am now pretty much fully on board the firing of the GM and Coach train. Today was kind of like the final nail in the coffin.

At least you didn't tell us Flacco is worse than Wilson.
