Injury being unlucky or not your post in the other thread was perfect. The Jets were building something with a young likable core and they sacrificed it all for a two year window. I still have to give Rodgers some credit though. We’ve never had a free agent be that interested in being a Jet. I also don’t think he mandated the organization to bring all his past their prime friends in. I think that was a big Woody overcompensation.
The only thing he could potentially or even possibly have sacrificed was his reputation. I'm sure halfway through the first couple of games, he realized what he had stepped into.
His reputation was already sacrificed by his bald faced lie about being inoculated against Covid. That has absolutely nothing at all to do with anyone's political or medical views or reasons for the actions they took in that regard.
This is what I was thinking. Saleh may want to consider extracting Rodgers dick from his mouth soon or it might "stay that way." At least, that's what my mother always told me.
I almost threw up in my mouth reading these comments. Do most of you here realize that the Jets are playing Checkers while the rest of the league is playing Chess? Most teams are trying to figure out how to get better game-to-game, make tweaks to the game plan, try to get better players in here. Meanwhile in Jets world, its like some bizarre PR fest where all they care about is covering each other's asses because they are all firmly on the Hot seat. They don't even care about trying to get better. They think just rolling the same failed car wreck out there each week is all they need to do. NO, NO, NO. They are missing the boat. Their job is to improve and try to win games. The Jets Front Office and Owner don't see it that way. They are content. And contentment is the Death of any pro sports franchise. Guys, this all leads back to Woody Johnson and we're in a really bad spot. The only way this will ever change is if Woody gives the keys and full control of all Personnel decisions to a GM/VP of Football Ops type. Otherwise with PR genius Woodrow at the helm, winning will never be the #1 priority.
What in the fuck saleh is a hard guy to like. Sometimes he’s cool but then he says a lot of stupid shit like this
Let's see... Both can be polemical. Both date hot chicks. Both have 'fuck you' money. Hmm... you might be right.
I was getting a lot more heated about the inexplicable nonsense constantly coming out of Saleh's mouth in the media this year until the reports started leaking that his job was safe for 2024. Now, and especially when looking back, I just hear a guy essentially reading from the 'make sure you stay within these guidelines and hit these power points" script basically being handed to him. Which obviously traces back to Woody, and from there simply boils down to a guy doing what he has to do in the name of self preservation. That 99/100 people would do as well put in the same spot no matter how much it may frustrate or piss us off on the outside looking in, and/or how much more ideal narrative friendly it is to shift the lion share of the outraged blame game here that way. I still don't like him or the way his demeanor comes off though even while acknowledging that script factor in play. I also don't believe he's "the guy" anymore based just on last year alone and before we went full circus for 2023. For me those early Rex years vibes from the start died with that.
I was all for Rodgers to come here to play quarterback. I didn't expect the Jets to get in line to kiss his ass...
