Can you even imagine Leon Hess (cigar in mouth) giddily announcing what shirt and pants combo the team was going to wear each week? Laugh My Fucking Ass Off.

oh jeez. That really puts it into perspective how much of a clown Woody Johnson is. No, I cannot imagine Leon Hess being that pathetic and he was a terrible owner haha

In the day I thought he was a terrible owner. I suppose he was. But he was far from being a terrible man. But it's interesting now, seeing a guy like Klecko getting very emotional talking about Leon Hess. Unlike today's owners who are billionaires because they own an NFL team, Hess had an actual oil company to run. Which unfortunately for Jets fans, was more important to him. The Jets were the last NFL team to hire a GM. Let that sink in, youngsters. It was only in his final years when he got serious about the Jets kicking some ass. Circling back to the topic, I don't see Leon Hess pulling PSL and parking pass shenanigans on his customers. He was always very fair with ticket prices. Jets were one of if not the last team not to force preseason games on season ticket holders.

This might be the only possible way. And we'd get a couple of bucks back each. Never make our money back, it's a lost cause.

True true. Hess was a poor football owner but he was a good man off the field. He was a war hero that wasn't often talked about. He also came and sat with Dennis Byrd nearly everyday throughout his time in the hospital after the injury.

Woody is a poor football owner and a loser off the field
