I really hope not- I rather go into wildcat for a game. Zach should never play another down as a New York Jet- its done
I've been thinking this as well--why not just go with wildcat the whole game? Our QB position is adding nothing. I think Dalvin may have practiced running it in Minni one preseason.
It's honestly the best offense that we could use at this point. Would be great to get an extra blocker on the field to help out with the O-line as well. The other team is already playing up against us anyway because we never push the ball more than 5 yards down the field, so that wouldn't really be a huge strike against using this offense.
Looks like this time we are tanking properly. Now please put Sauce and Quinnen on injured reserve so we can pick in Top 3.
No, we haven't properly tanked. Properly tanking would have been ZW not being on the roster, going into the season with Rodgers handpicked backup Boyle so that when Rodgers went down Tim Boyle would have started. We would have cried out in pain but it would have guaranteed the top pick in the draft. THAT would have been a proper tank job. The Jets have NEVER been able to properly tank. Had they Trevor Lawrence would be on our roster instead of the "Wonder Waste" ZW.
On a team with Wilson, Boyle, Siemian, Boyle is the worst option. I mean I’d start Morstead over Boyle. I mean Siemian sucks also but he would suck less. We would still lose with him but maybe pickup some 1st downs along the way so we the fans are pulling out a little less hair during our frustration. This team makes decisions not based on skill and I don’t like that.
Seems that way to me too--obviously we don't have the coaching intelligence to pull it off--we'd certainly need an OC who is far above averge and we got the opposite. But it plays to our strenght in another way in that we need only 1 WR and it just so happens that we have 1 good one. They would probably not dare to single cover him even with Dalvin throwing the ball so we have basically 10 against 9 at the point of attack on runs, We wouldn't even need to play a regular offensive line--rather cook and Breece in backfield with your best 8 blockers. I don't know how good a run blocker Mitchell is but if not that good, then get him the f out of there. Call up Yeboah and we got 4 TE's on the team plus the FB to block. I can see Izzy getting in there too--nothing like speed behind a bunch of blockers.
Wilson sucks so they put in Boyle who is worse. Boyle is worse but they are terrified to put in the guy they signed after being ripped in the media for not getting a NFL Qb . Yessir, the circus is BACK!!
IDK where you're getting Boyle is worse--1 week of practice with first team and he was as good as ZW. He also was able to assist with OL positioning. Agree he could not get past his first read just like the 2nd pick of the 2021 draft.
Completely agreed. Absolutely no reason to not be using it at this point, except for the obvious fact that they're not trying to win these games.
No one said it was "all" Zach's fault. At least no one who could think. But this asinine team waited until the wheels were off to replace him. Now, ANYONE would look bad back there with that line, that OC, and the level of morale on the entire team. The Jets just go out of their way to destroy any chance of getting ahead. Both on the field and off.
Perhaps no one said those exact words, but plenty said the same thing in other ways. And I'm not absolving Zach of blame, but there were serious flaws in the offense since he got here, primarily the OL and a lack of skill position talent, as well as OCs who weren't up to the task. But all of that was masked by Zach struggling to learn how to be an NFL QB. Now that he's out of the picture, it all comes into focus. Maybe Rodgers could've overcome all of that - if he could remain upright - but we can see now, even that's a shaky proposition. From my perspective, if the Jets invested as much time, money, and focus on the offense as they have on the defense over decades, they'd be a solid team. But they still show no signs of getting it.
The stats may not back that up, but the optics certainly do. Boyle will back again next game vs ATL so, we'll get to see another shitfest on offense and perhaps if we're lucky, the immortal Trevor Semian might get some playing time. For shits and giggles, maybe Zach will trot back out there for his adoring fans to celebrate his return. Who knows what those zany rocket scientists at Florham Pk. will come up with next. We're not debating who's better at QB, but who's WORSE. Let that sink in..
Looked exactly like Zach, but actually hit his checkdowns and highest completion pct than Zach. No offense until garbage time or last minute 4th qtr no huddle with soft coverages. Zach is a #2 pick with 34 starts. Boyle is not. Where is the accountability? from the Zach supporters. But somehow Zach is clearly better than Boyle based on what? your so called optics. The kid is a complete bum and worse than Boyle and Simian. He has zero upside because he’s mentally cannot develop his processing ability. Sam Howell drafted in the 5th round last year is way outplaying this kid with a terrible Commanders team. Zach plays scared. watch Howell play he’s high motor and putting it on the line. Zach plays too small and weak to win this league.
Give up. Already. Devito is outplaying him. Dobbs outplaying him. Howell outplaying him. O’Connell outplaying him. Boyle outplayed him IMO. He’s not NFL material. Too soft. Watch how these other guys play. Boyle was sacked 7 times and still threw for 71% completion pct and 2.36 avg release time. No Becton,AVT, Connor, Wes, random dudes on the Oline.
Again, the optics of Zach running backwards is only marginally better than Boyle throwing passes that somehow always wind up going airborne and being caught by the other team. We won't even bring up the Fail Mary which even Zach has never accomplished in his 3 years of suckitude. Zack is supposed to be a quantum leap over Boyle due to his draft position but that is not the case. Boyle otoh, will go down in Jet history right next to the infamous Sanchez Buttfumble, the Marino Fake Spike and now, the Fail Mary Pass. As far as accountability goes, Saleh only holds Breece accountable but gives Zach a pass so that's on our HC. We have been reduced to debating which pile of steaming shit smells better. Yes, it has come to this in '23.
They beat the confidence out of him. That's what happens you have a defensive coach neutering your offense. Sanchez and Geno with Rex Darnold with Bowles Zach with Saleh It doesn't work.
