The only problem with that theory is that if he's already flirting with HC jobs at other teams, i feel like its only a very short matter of time till he gets an offer that he really likes. I think one more season, two at BEST :shit:
Why worry about next year until after next season? If you look around the league there will be maybe only a very few HC positions available after next season & Cowher will get his choice. I think between last year & this there are like 18 new HCs who will not be going anywhere yet. Add in Holmgren/Shanny/Lewis/Coughlin/Belly/Herm/Fox/Gru/Del Rio to name just a few leaves very few openings after this season
Actually, I think that if Mangini is the real deal, that this was the closest Schott will come to leaving for a while. If we surge deep into the playoffs next season, I think he will decide to stick around for some championships. A young coordinator with a ring commands far more money.
I think that one of the reasons why he withdrew is the SD Loss. If Marty Gets fired, Shotty prolly thinks that he has a shot on becoming HC there and didnt want to be committed to Miami while he waits

Yes I actually think for us MS would be better then JM. Either way though it seems like we are in a no lose situation here.
