That’s the frustrating part of it. This very well might be the worst team in the NFL right now and we are probably not getting a top 5 pick because of some flukey wins at the beginning of the year.
This cannot be overstated. It took extremely unlikely events in 3 games to barely eek out wins. Without those, we are looking at a franchise qb in the draft and starting over. Instead we are on the hamster wheel of suckitude with absolutely no end in sight.
Although your idea would be nice, the reality is that we need to get a good offensive tackle in the first round. As was last year most good tackles are taken within the first 12 pics. So I am sure Douglas will take a offensive tackle in the first round which I agree with. Our next pic should be a wide receiver with speed and height. I think that is doable with the pics we have. And then I think we need to use the remaining pics on the offensive line which is just awful

The tank is on. Problem is, we're tanking to pick the best defensive lineman in the draft. Wherever we pick, I wouldn't be shocked if we took a d-lineman while there are two QBs still on the board who will go on to become Pro Bowl level players.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but, I find it hard to root for them to lose. Especially, against an AFCE opponent. Draft high or in the middle of the pack, just don't f it up.

They're not tanking, they're simply just this bad. But if they did try to tank, you know they'd screw that up too. And even if they did get the #1 pick in 2021, do you you really think that would've successfully developed Lawrence? No chance. I see no reason at this point to have any hope as long as Woody owns the team.

I don't follow college football but knowing the Jets they'll pick 5th in a 4 QB draft and waste the pick on a defensive player.
As much as I’d love to see us to get a receiver the draft has two franchise left tackles that should go in the first 7-8 picks. Draft position is going to be huge to get Joe Alt or the Penn State kid.
