So my girlfriend and I just moved into a new condo and we decided to throw our spare bed out since it never got used and it’d just clutter up either of our home offices. Low and behold for the first time since pre-pandemic, my family in the south wants to suddenly come up and stay with us for the holidays in December. I need to find something for a couple of them to sleep on. Any suggestions? I’d rather go see the stupid things but stores don’t have this crap anymore and it’s all online. Yeah... I used a blow up mattress before. They ain't so bad... and a lot better than having to store a fold-up that rarely gets used.
I was about to say the same as both other replies. The last big remodel I did I slept on an airbed for a couple of months. The key is a good quality one that is high and with decent support on the edge. My only experience with foldout is poor design and poor comfort. I'd go with an inflatable in your situation.

JV. Don’t buy. I got one collecting dust in the basement. I can give it to you for free. You can keep it.
Also agree with the inflatable mattress comments. The one i have with periodically ensure it stays fully inflated as some through the night will lose some air. It's amazing to not waking up dipping into it
I appreciate it but I have been swayed that air mattresses are the go-to. I have no problem giving my bed up to family but I know for a fact night one they will refuse.
