Doubt anyone is trading for our RB ... any of them, especially when you can find a star back in rounds 4 thru 7
Unfortunately the same group who put us in this position would then be responsible for reshaping the roster--so thats a big no to getting rid of valuable assets.
Only guys I wanna keep going frwrd on D is Quincy, JFM, Huff JJ, and sauce. Mcdonut isn't getting traded.
No way would they or should they trade Sauce. Dude was a 1st Team All Pro as a rookie, which hasn't happened since 1981. On top of that, he's a great guy/teammate. These are the types of players this franchise needs to build around, not trade away.
considering he's a top CB and has 3 years left of cheap control (2 and an option) 4 if you add the franchise tag. his value has to be at least 2 1sts. probably 2 1sts and a 3rd.
Obviously it would depend on what another team was willing to pay. But we just used the 4th overall pick on him. That alone is worth two pick 20s. It would be really hard to get a lot of value back out of him because he was just drafted so highly. Quinnen would get a lot more return. But our whole defense is built around the push in the middle and its part of the reason Sauce has success. We're talkin tearing it all down if we trade Q. Really if we want to trade our best hope is to get a high pick this season and trade it in a QB heavy draft. QB drafts are the best trade drafts. Exactly what we should have done in 2021 considering we were just beginning a rebuild. Everything went off the rails in 2021 because we got QB mania.
To the people saying this is a bad idea - what's the alternative? There's no other way to quickly revamp the talent on offense other than maaaaybe losing every game the rest of this year and trading down from our first round pick. The fact of the matter is we are short on talent at OL, WR, and TE and our offense isn't going to be good enough to win the Super Bowl even when Rodgers returns. We can't have our cake and eat it too if we want a good offense. Something's gotta give on defense.
