Saleh said today they will make the decision. I hope he's not stupid about it. The Jets are playing for next year now, and that includes backup QB. Wilson has been evaluated. Now try to find out whether Boyle or Siemien can be Rodgers' backup next year. Its possible they aren't good either but you need to find out to influence decision making in the offseason
Seriously who cares if you overdraft a few players based on the rankings…WE NEED A OLINE. He can’t REEEEEEAD!
It sounded like it could be for good. Saleh said the score was 29-6 and he was just looking for a spark. Not great but- For speculative purposes: he also complemented Boyle for being "decisive" which gives an indication on his frustration with Wilson. Also I think he took forever to finally bench Wilson with the thought that this will be the last benching.
Saleh and Douglas ARE stupid enough to keep starting Zach. The fact that Saleh is even considering it warrants his dismissal. And Take Douglas w you!
I don’t think either Boyle or Simian are very good We KNOW Zach isn’t very good May as well see if a change can provide anything…probably not much as our OL is a shambles and no receivers can separate or catch and now even our superstar receiver is making a habit of fumbling and dropping passes…that’s frustration The defense is full on frustration…when you go out there and give it your all and then the offense keeps going 3 and outs time after time and can’t put up any points, the defense will always let down…just how it happens So to me, you elevate Simian and you see if starting either Boyle or Simian with an actual week to prep gives you anything It may very well not…they aren’t very good either But you have to change something because this team is on the verge of imploding big time
Okay. I admit it. Zach isn't the answer. He's had ample time and opportunity to prove it and he hasn't. It's that simple. I doubt that he ever plays again for the Jets, and I'm fine with that. After all, my allegiance is to the Jets not one player, despite the opinions expressed about my support of Zach. In any case, he's done. Boyle will start Friday. I expect we'll hear that Siemian has been elevated from the P.S., an Zach will likely take his place there (or they'll concoct and injury to put him on I.R.). As for the Jets and my support, at this point I won't invest any more time, emotion, or energy into them. If some day they shock me and show they're not the SOJs I may renew my interest. What a colossal waste!
Thought this was an interesting quote from his presser. Saleh on if they should have done more on QB2 spot: https://x.com/snyjets/status/1726707512550752272?s=46 Saleh on Zachs future: https://x.com/connor_j_hughes/status/1726705744429625772?s=46
Yeah maybe look at the fact that two of his best games in college came against the intimidating defenses of Houston and Texas State. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/houston/2020.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2020-10-24-brigham-young.html Oh and he lit up North Alabama too.
That's what they should do. Not one of these guys guarantees victories, put in who ever is able to drive the offense.
All season we dressed 2 qb’s. Suddenly the golden boy is demoted and they can’t demote him completely? Joke franchise. I know it’s a non issue in the grand scheme but it’s just the same kid glove treatment they’ve given him since day 1.
"We'll deal with it in the offseason" - Robert Saleh on Zach Wilson's future with the Jets Zach is done. There's no way they can put him on the field again. He'll be released and his name will be added to the long list of shitty Jets quarterbacks... right above Tim Boyle. We have gone from not being able to develop a quarterback to not being able to find a quarterback worth developing.
Considering the track record of most of the guys who left here, I'd say there isn't much of a difference.
Yep, sounds like Wilson played his last game as a Jet for sure The young man should consider the CFL. It’s less of a commitment which aligns with his skill set and Western Canada will feel similar to his native Utah
