Indeed, He came in and set line protections on the very 1st play he was in. An made much quicker decisions than the golden boy,,,, BTW how many times has he been bench now?
So the three games he played three plus years ago are valid... but the games Simien had that are other worldly compared to what we see from Zach, also multiple years ago, are not valid. House of cards.
those 3 games are the last time we seen boyle. simian on the other hand was seen last year against us and also in pre-season in which he didn't even make the PS for the bengals and no other team signed him he was a good value for a 7th round pick and performed better then expected for a couple of years and better then zach was to start, but he's completely beat up and washed right now
well now we get to see a new shit show. I don't really care anyway, i was just trying to be reasonable with my takes on the team/players this season. most of us here said if rodgers went down we were fucked. the difference is when he went down myself and maybe 1 or 2 other accepted it was over and was taking the season for what it was, the others are still in the grieving phases of the season. I expect the worst so anything watchable is better then no football at all. now we are going to be less watchable but it's whatever.
We wouldn't have been "fucked" if Joe Douglas had a better back-up plan than Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle. It's really that simple.
and I get that, but thats a very fan like take. the chiefs offense is struggling with mahomes at QB. and he's still playing at an elite level. his WRs are letting him down. WR is a huge hole. his backup is blaine gabbert. if mahomes goes down they are fucked too. the salary cap ensures every team has holes. it creates parity. complaining about the QB2 on a roster means the GM built a pretty damn good roster
A "fan like take"? Yeah... I'm a fan. And as a fan I wanted Zach to succeed, If I was the GM of an NFL team I'd take my emotion out of the equation and do what's best for the team & the fans. You're the guy that says to "use your eyes" when evaluating players. Anyone with eyes... and a modicum of football knowledge... could see that Zach was not getting the job done weeks ago. Here's another fan like take... Blaine Gabbert is a better QB than Zach Wilson...
we all agree zach wasn't getting it done. the fan take is that it's possible to field an NFL roster with no holes and high quality backups that could be starters at every position and tons of stars. it's not possible with the salary cap and talent pool. you can do it in baseball but not football. the NFL is built for parity.
Nobody has said anything like that... so that's a ridiculous strawman argument. I've said it numerous times... with our defense and average quarterback play we'd be at the top of our division. Zach couldn't provide that... and it was apparent weeks ago.
it was apparent last year. thats why we got rodgers and his injury sucks. all the conversation is because of 1 achillies snapping. otherwise it's a whole different situation.
We could’ve had Case Keenum for $3.1 million/year in the off-season. He lead a similar team to a 13-3 record. We have $7.1 million in cap space right now. And we’re paying Jake Martin over $2 million to be a backup on the Colts.
