As bad as everything is right now, the season is not officially over. Keep in mind, the 2009 team also started 4-6, finished 9-7, and made a run to the AFC title game. However, whatever slim playoff hopes this team has would go out the window with a 4th consecutive loss to Miami at home on Black Friday. It'll be interesting to see if they make the switch at QB permanent. It would be tough to roll with Boyle or Siemian on a short week but, with the season on the line, they may have no other options. Had my first look at Tankathon yesterday, we're currently slotted to pick 11th for those interested, and I have a feeling that's going to become the norm for me over these last 7 weeks. Prove me wrong this week Jets, go out and beat Miami!
This team feels sooooo much different from that 2009 team.... Going up to NY to visit my brother for T-day. Hopefully the ocean / weather cooperate on Friday so we can go freeze our ass off chasing big fish as opposed to watch the JETS embarrass themselves to a national audience once again....
IMO Semien probably gives them the best chance of winning, but will they start him? Probably not. My guess is Zach will start and more than likely shit the bed while the stadium is half filled with Dolphins fans (we all know it will be) but hey at least they will look really cool wearing those SUPER SWEET ALL BLACK UNIFORMS
The only hope I can see is when Tua has been pressured this season he cracks. If we can create that, and get some points off turnovers, maybe we can pull off an upset.
If the Jets weren’t a dumpster fire right now this is actually a good time to play Miami. Drag their soft asses up to the cold weather while they aren’t playing that good. But this will probably be a 38-17 drubbing while the defense quits in the second half.
Boyle plays terribly. The Jets knock out Looney Tunes Tua and Mike White comes in and shows them what a real backup QB looks like
3rd quarter, Miami will be up 16 to 10, or 20 to 12, something like that, and that's when Boyle gets folded in half, Mike White style, and we're back to Zach, who trots onto the field with BOOOOO raining down on him, and... we lose 35 to 13.
There is a reason they call it black friday.... Well yea but I do not know if you noticed that he was actually - get this - setting line protections and #33 needs to be benched also... how the fuck do you not block and when your the hot read you have your back to the QB and let everyone through... so many issues ... The 2020 Jets averaged 279.9 yards and 15.2 points per game. The 2023 Jets are averaging 270.3 yards and 15.0 points per game.
It would make sense. The Bills played Ty Johnson on offense for the first time all year just to ball out on us.
