Yeah and I think personally that the only reason it happened today is that it was obvious the defense was frustrated and starting to implode.
We've seen a very prominent poster on this board claiming we're all crazy for saying the team was fracturing. Meanwhile, rather than cut it off before it got obvious, the genius coaching staff decided to wait until they almost literally didn't have a choice as the defense got frustrated and started fighting after every play. Their best player on offense has started to drop passes and fumble every week. Clearly no longer focused. Just so typical of this franchise to wait until the proverbial horse has left the proverbial barn to close the proverbial barn door.
Can someone tell me why we didn’t bother to bring in a backup plan this offseason, doubled down on that even after Rodgers injury, and tripled down on that all the way past the trade deadline when every indicator we had, week after week, suggested doing otherwise ? This entire season is on JD. Wasted.
Pretty sure that 14 months from now the Rodgers/Wilson chapter will have run out of pages in the ugly biography of the 21st century Jets.
So the Coaches can’t make a smart decision..they let the crew decide teams navigation ? Lol what incompetent fools
They do everything as a reaction to something. There's never any proactive direction. It seems like there was for a while, and now everything is because of something else. It took them three weeks to bring a back up quarterback in after Aaron Rodgers went down, and it was only because the media and fans - everyone -went crazy and started turning on them. They cut Michael Carter when people started screaming for changes on offense. And now they finally, finally, bench Zach Wilson because the coaching has staff clearly has lost the team, or at the very least the team can't function properly anymore because it is so frustrated. Leave it to the Jets to throw the entire season away and make changes one game after it was too late. Had they done this two weeks ago, maybe there's a chance for meaningful football. But they wait until the wheels fall off.
It’s beyond stupid Zach and Boyle couldn’t play on any decent FBS college team and I doubt on a FCS one too We have no OL Fire Douglas ..this disaster is on his watch
The offensive line has been injured beyond any normal measure. Not saying it's good, we will never know, but they are on second and third stringers across the entire line. It does suck, but any unit would suck with that many injuries. The points about the quarterbacks, absolutely true. Epic fail. And it's not just this year. They never got Wilson a back up in his rookie year, they didn't get him a real back up last year, and they rolled the dice a third time this year. Criminal negligence.
The problem now is that several of the injured offensive line players are on their second or third major injury. Several of them have not given you a full season in 2 or 3 where (where applicable). The OL absolutely needs an overhaul. It's like the Yankees expecting Donaldson to give them a full season. You CAN'T plan that way. It will fail. Trading with the Raiders for Adams is going to cost the Jets the capital to do this. This is a train wreck.
Was he benched because the game was pretty much over, or is this the last time we'll ever see him play as a Jet QB again? To be honest, I wouldn't even count on that happening, anyway. For some reason, Zach always ends up playing again, mainly because his replacements can't stay healthy. He always gets lucky like that.
The relationship between ZW getting benched and Aaron's absence from the game--is it coincidence? If Rodgers was there ZW would be whining to him non-stop instead of the QB coach.
Ever notice when they show a sideline view of any QB they're usually talking with a coach and looking at a tablet? Only once have I ever seen zwilson doing that. He's usually staring off into space, sitting by himself.
