starter due to injury =/= starter. newman is starting at RG. he isn't a starter. hall and james started at CB for us against the eagles. they aren't starters.
the quality you expect form a starter is different then you expect from a backup forced to start due to injury. anyone with half a brain cell knows this.

it's weird because some things are updated and others aren't. they already removed carter but sitll have turner at RT and mitchell at RG. they also have huff at DE5/6 when he's been DE3 all year
they also don't have taylor at all but he's been playing some snaps this past few weeks and they have brownlee who hasn't taken an offensive snap all year on the depth chart

Well... in their defense, they do call it "unofficial"...

My fave is the Front Office list.
Holy shit... how much dead weight do you need to operate a perennially failing football operation?

The answer is a click away.

Holy crap! Do us a favor then - call up the Jets and tell them who the first string quarterback really is. Those stupid bastards think it's Zach Wilson. Even if you don't.

That reminds me of how mad people used to get at Mike Maccagnan’s Dunkin cups. And more importantly that they were styrofoam cups that hurt the environment.

over 70 people involved in ticket sales and corporate sponsorship sales...

Only 3 analytics guys and 20 scouts, including interns.

Shows you where the priorities are

they think it's rodgers like everyone else does. thats why saleh even said this week if rodgers is ready and wants to play he will play. if zach was the 1st string it wouldn't matter what rodgers wanted

The guy who started eight out of nine games and took 99.3% of the snaps is not the starter? In what Bizarro world does this occur?

in a world where the starter tears his Achilles 4 snaps into the season.

Injuries, yes - even to quarterbacks, is routine in the NFL; there is nothing in the slightest Bizarro about it. What is Bizarro is not having an adequate guy to take the reins but going with the same guy who has been, and continues to be, a failure since he started his first game in the NFL.

it literally happens every time a big name QB goes down. there isn't even enough talent in the world for every team to have a good starting QB let alone enough for a good starting QB to be on the bench waiting for an injury. any top backups would prefer to sit behind injury prone and/or bad starters so they have a chance. They don't want to sit behind a HOF QB. thats why trubisky left buffalo to be a backup in pitt, dalton left to complete with a rookie in carolina, white left to backup tua etc. it gives him a better shot to get playing time. and he's a bad backup too behind a bad starter.

the only time it didn't happen was bradys injury like 18 years ago and they still went 11-5 with a backup QB due to good coaching. that backup then got a chance to start and was awful. no teams really survive when a top tier QB goes out for the year. the bills are 5-5. if allen went down game 1 they'd probably be like 2-8. If mahomes went down week 1 you think the chiefs are winning? how about the eagles without hurts? or the bengals without burrow? thats how the NFL works

Is it acceptable to you that the Jets did not have a viable backup available for Rodgers starting the season and still did not get one when he got knocked out for the season two minutes into game one? Is it acceptable to you that, as bad as he has been, Zach Wilson continues as the starter?

as a reasonable fan of football that understands how the league works, the salary cap works, and our current situation with the cap and roster, I 100% understood (as did many here at the time) that rodgers going down meant we were fucked.
what is acceptable to me or you is really 100% irrelevant. were just 2 fans out of millions.

That's just a lame excuse. All of us could name a half dozen guy available September first who would at least give Wilson some competition at a workable salary. Instead you endorse the company policy of allowing a season to be forfeited at the expense of every other guy on the team rather than see Wilson for what he is.

What is acceptable to you or I is, of course, not a factor to the Jets organization but it is most pertinent to this discussion.

In addition to Siemian and Streveler, there was Barkley, Daniel, Flacco, Foles, McCoy, Newton, Ryan, Rypien, Wentz and probably another dozen who would be worth a phone call before selling one's soul to the devil who is Zach Wilson. Those are just the free agents who were unsigned before game one, low priced deals may have been available for a handful of other guys under contract.

I'd take any one of them to have been backing up Rodgers over the guy you swear sucks.

You can go cheap on the backup to start the season, but if the starter goes down Week 1 and you have an elite defense and special teams, you stop being cheap and get a better QB.

barkley is backing up devito who actually is running the worst offense in the NFL currently. you think the backup to an UDFA rookie QB who is barely allowed to throw is a better option?
daniel? he retired and was never good enough to start. was a career backup
Flacco? he was worse then sophmore zach.
Foles? has been washed for years
    newton? lol

you are literally naming bums and retired players and washed players. that list is awful.
