not so sure. hes not as mobile as ZW. no way he escapes to even THROW that hail mary, eg weda seen ALOTTA him just laying down for sacks.
as close as we've kept games. if it wasn't for rodgers and AVT going down I think we are 8-1 with the 1 loss being dallas where the D just kinda shit the best and let dak chip away at us all game. every other game has been winnable even with a shit offense and bottom tier QB play. same thing happened last year. we were winning until we lost AVT and hall
If he layed down for sacks he may still be playing lol but it's a good point, but to KYs point if the offense wasn't so inept we wouldn't have to be relying on a hail mary
Of course he's "improving"; he had NOWHERE to go but up.... and it's at such a slow pace, that's shown no signs that he'll be "the guy" sans 3/4 of the KC game. Maybe he can bounce around or hold a clipboard for years and have a Geno Smith type resurrection, but no professional franchise can plan their team like that. If you havent shown by year 3, odds are it isnt going to happen
How do you account for the other QBs being efficient when he wasn't? Comon man, he has wow throws but his job is to run the o and score TD...not 40-45-50 yard FG. He is 12-19 as a starter/back-up... lets agree to disagree, I would not extend him and bench him now.
I still maintain that most who want to bench Zach are WAY underestimating the impact of the play calling, the poor to mediocre performance of some key players, and stupid mistakes/penalties that don't go away just because you sit Zach. And if you sit him, you're pretty much giving up on him - which for many is no problem, but for this franchise and how to handle that is. All that said, I get the sentiment. Although I still think he can become a good QB in the right situation - here or elsewhere - I watch the games and I too feel little confidence that he and the offense can do anything really positive. It's always a slog, and admittedly, right now, Zach isn't good enough to overcome all the other stuff. Can he one day do that? IDK. I agree the odds are against it, but this team has some really fundamental problems on offense that go beyond him. It's maddening. And I'm not opposed to them making a change, but not just for change sake. Who do you put in? Is Siemien going to do better? Personally I doubt it. I'm not against drafting a QB, especially if they get a decent shot at one, but this team has never developed a young QB, so that's not really guaranteed to fix things. Sign/trade for a good vet? Who, and how? They don't grown on trees. This isn't Madden. Before they bench Zach, they ought to bench Hackett and let someone else run the offense, and bench the other low performers too. Doing those two things would make a much bigger difference IMO.
I’ll defend Saleh and the roster a little bit here. Some of those penalties were utter bullshit. Michael Carter’s chop block? He was singled up on the defender and the guy reached out and touch Becton’s arm and they called that engaged. Ridiculous. They didn’t give us a replay of at least one of Uzomah’s holds. I think it was on the long Wilson run almost for a touchdown. They also didn’t give us any replays with different angles of the Mayer touchdown. I mean I think he got it but his full back came out of bounds and one of his feet looked questionable. Meanwhile we saw like ten different angles of Sutton’s catch yesterday in the corner. I don’t get it. Just like the Jalen Hurts questionable touchdown where they ran to commercial break and Sanchez has the balls to say they have angles we don’t have access to. Bullshit.
I think Hackett sucks but wasn’t one of the big complaints not throwing on first down? Judging by @KY Jets Fan breakdown we threw on 17 first downs yesterday. Multiple things can be true at once.
Yes, multiple things can be true at once. It can also be true that many things can be wrong at once, not just failing to throw on 1st down. IOW, simply throwing more on 1st down wasn't a "silver bullet". There are other problems. Yes, Zach is part of that, but he's not the biggest part IMO.
this one I didn't agree with personally but thats not quite what happened. becton had a hand on his chest but it was ticky tacky. he wasn't blocking him. the NFL rules state "engaged" but don't really specify what it means in the context of the rule. To me and by normal definiton it means occupied so becton would have to be blocking him for it to count. not have a feeler hand out. same way a DB can put a hand on the WRs back to feel them out but they aren't engaged with them until they grab them or try to block them. IDK if the refs feel that contact is engagement. it's really a dumb call though and not in the spirit of the rule. I seen several replays during the live broadcast and it was clearly a TD for mayer. Not sure why you didn't see any
They showed one from the back pylon to my recollection and that was after it was confirmed and they were kicking the extra point. The point is they normally dissect these plays like a motherfucker and we seem to get very little replays. By the way, are you married? Because your spouse must be awfully patient if you mansplain everything in real life like you do on the internet.
they should show more replays during games. IDK why they don't they have more cameras then ever but still. i remember seeing a replay confirming it was a TD. and lol ironic since you only reply to me when you think i'm wrong (sometimes I am, sometimes i'm not) and want to call me out for it. your wife must love it too. nothing like only talking to her when you want to point out something she's doing wrong (whether your right or not) i'm going to start calling you "actually"
I do not buy this. We have maybe one more win with Rodgers. Maybe Rodgers fixes the play calling and we beat the Raiders but if the same mistakes our made and the online injuries are the same . Rodgers is not Magic.
You don’t think he beats the Patriots at home when the line was fine? Or the Chiefs when the defense nearly pitches a second half shutout (again, good protection)?
Raiders too. I think we lose to the Chargers because that’s just a very Jetsy game to lose regardless of the QB. But with Patriots & Raiders wins we’re 6-3.
I know you’ve given your reasons, but it’s been 30 games! You don’t agree that he can’t run an NFL offense after seeing him fail over 30 games, why? Because he ran one at BYU? Playing scrub teams during COVID? You just want him to succeed … honestly as we all do … but your position is more hope than reality. He’s NEVER been able to run an NFL offense with different OC’s. Yes he’s got arm talent, and he has made some GREAT throws into tight spaces no question. But he does NOT show a good feel for the game, whether you buy it or not. If you want to see great pocket presence and feel for the rush, Marino was one of the best. Brady too. Zach is not in their zip code. Not even close. Agree that not ALL of the offensive struggles are all him. But come on…after 30 games, he’s STILL not had a single great game. Not a one! Not a single game where we have to go look at All 22 and dissect play by play to show why he didn’t play that badly. Come on! If he had anything, we’d have seen it by now. At least ONCE! I do agree we need to draft a QB…as much as it sucks for us…Zach is a bust.
I agree because QB is much more than the guy who slings it around and hands it off. It's about recognizing defenses, audibles, cadence, calling protections, and most importantly LEADERSHIP. The right guy behind center elevates the entire offense and holds people accountable.
I think the way the games played out we had a better chance to beat the Chargers with Rodgers than the Raiders.
