yeah I am not going to hate on McDonald. I think he will come good. But using that pick when we needed offensive lineman. That's the sad part.

I hope we use our first two picks on Lineman in the next draft.

Having another decent QB, WR, or OL this year could have gone a long way to making this team better.

I mostly blame Aaron Rogers, Corey Davis, and Duane Brown for the Jet's problems in these areas. If any of them had chosen to retire before the draft, I'm certain the decision tree on draft night would have looked different. Frankly, at the time, most posters wanted an OT to replace Becton, not to replace Brown, but they aren't going to say that now....

I have no issue with the Will McDonald pick -- I don't think the Jets are going to be able to keep all these pass rushers beyond the next couple of years, and I'm hopeful that he will come into his own soon enough.

jon lynch has only hit on 3 of his 10 1st round picks with the niners. and he's considered one of the best in the league.
JD in the 1st 2 rounds has drafted becton, AVT, sauce, GW, JJ, breece, tippman. His only misses in the top 2 rounds so far have been zach and mims.
JJ was inactive some games last year too. and this year he is a beast. give it time.

Disagree. The offense he assembled had Aaron Rodgers & AVT as major components. I don't think there was anybody available at the pick who would have contributed immediately. It's about the future.

It's one thing to look at this offense as it is now, it's another to look at it with Aaron Rodgers. It's night and day, plus that cuck Corey Davis fucked the Jets. If they knew he was going to quit on the team, they probably draft JSN there. Any olineman would have been a big reach.

He had an ankle, he wasn't a healthy scratch.

If Rodgers was playing, this wouldn't even be a discussion.

JD made a bunch of offensive free agent signings last offseason. The only problem is they all suck. He also traded for AR. So you can't say he ignored the offense. He also drafted 2 o-lineman and one has been great so far.

Jaxon smith was always what the pick should've been. End of story

disagree. We have a plethera of pass rushers. What we needed was help on the OL. Also McDonald was not even listed as a top 20 player. With all the players coming back from surgeries on our OL we needed to add as many OL players as possible during the draft.

How we don’t take a WR there with Rodgers needed as many weapons or OL was absolutely brutal

It should - he's not going to play forever, even if he plays at all.

The OL will always be a problem, when they have incompetent QBs, Douglas, has spent plenty of draft capital on the the OL, but with braindead Wilson behind center, they'll always look awful

Don't understand the hate for McDonald, he got . 5 a sack last week, that's. 5 a sack more than Gholston got his entire career

It's almost as if people give you more benefit of the doubt when you have a far higher winning percentage as GM and have consistently made the playoffs and a Super Bowl.

There are like 3-4 WRs who were available at our pick that have already contributed immediately to their teams. McDonald has merely suited up for 1, maybe 2 games this year?

true but it's not fair though. also the 1 year they suffered injuries like we did, they went 6-10. and they are a lucky 7th round purdy away from being in our boat right now. purdy allowed them to dump lance and stack a team with a QB making pennies.

If I were NYJ GM, - I'd trade him for a late 2nd rounder in 2024. Cut our loss while we can.
