The other Wilson nut huggers all left. he's the only one I've never seen anyone in my entire life call intentional grounding a heads up play. This is truly a 1st.
Here is the full clip of that heads up play. https://www.nfl.com/videos/maxx-cro...grounding-penalty-from-zach-wilson-in-early-g
I'm more interested in if he gets benched and you are proven wrong, how much will you ignore it. I can't blame the masses, myself included, wanting to see the other option at minimum. I think that's the point, not this slam dunk guarantee the alternative is going to be better... But the truth is that's also a pretty safe bet.
absolutely is. and he was bombing them yesterday but outkicking the coverage and didn't get the pins inside 10. still a good performance just not his standard elite performance.
i'm one of the few who has no issues admitting mistakes. but how many admitted they were wrong about streveler last year? none. and now they are doing the same with boyle/simian. the issue is though as bad as the jets are, we've kinda always been known as a pretty self aware and reasonable fan base. we are a joke now because of all the wilson hate and primtime games that all other teams fans are saying is "zach isn't nearly as bad as jet fans told me he was"
Season over. This team isn't winning a single game for the rest of the year. Might as well just tank and blow the shit up and then trade away the best defensive players because they will want out anyway. They are being completely wasted on this shit show. How did this team beat the fucking Eagles? They can't even get a first down. The offense is historically putrid. Uzomah & Carter need to be cut asap. They hurt team more than they help it. Worst offense I've ever seen, HANDS DOWN and that speaks volumes considering how bad they have been the last 20 years. Zach Wilson sucks, Hacket sucks. Zach is unfixable and this team is unwatchable.
Costello on Uzomah and Carter: "I would start by benching tight end C.J. Uzomah and running back Michael Carter. Both of them have been bad this season. Uzomah had more holding penalties (two) than catches (one) on Sunday night. Carter had a critical chop-block penalty and has been a disappointment for the last two years. Pushing them aside would clear a lane for Jeremy Ruckert to play more at tight end and rookie Izzy Abanikanda to play at running back. The Jets should give Abanikanda the role currently filled by Dalvin Cook as the No. 2 back and shift Cook to a third-down role. Cook surely is a better blocker than Abanikanda because pass protection is difficult for rookie running backs, so he is better suited for third downs. Abanikanda would give the offense more speed. https://nypost.com/2023/11/13/sports/the-jets-big-fear-about-potentially-benching-zach-wilson/ (some other good stuff in that article - explaining Saleh's "taking the 5th" argument when considering benching Wilson and Costello's worry about losing the locker room
you should know me better then hell I haven't seen anyone outside myself here admit when they are wrong. they just ignore it and change the subject. not even 1 person admitted to being wrong about strevler and yet half the board was clamoring for him last year
and ruckert had 2 pre-snap penalties that killed drives as well so the logic isn't great. with that said we likely move on from uzo after this year and ruckert has more talent so why not give him a shot. as far as MC vs izzy again might as well. but we can't consistently run or open lanes
I think you're confusing people just wanting to see someone else, with a guarantee the replacement is better. And honestly Strevler did exactly what people thought he would do when he replaced Zach. He gave the offense a spark. You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel labeling everyone who wanted to see Strevler with the 1-3 people who said he was this hands down better QB than Wilson.
they were smart penalties though right? much better than the alternative - a fumble. right? heads up plays You can argue with Costello if you want. Idk if he's right about benching Uzomah or not but he clearly knows more about the game than you do
different =/= better. teams are always trying to win. why would you go different and worse to appease fans? If we had some young draft pick I could understand the "lets see what we have in this kid" mentality. but who TF wants to watch boyle or simian?
i'm not arguing with him. he has a good point and I agree with it. i was just saying his reason for benching uzo for ruckert doesn't make much sense when ruckerts done the same things. his point should be ruckert is more talented and can use the snaps and uzo is likely gone in the offseason. he's on point with the izzy though but again the issue is we can't run block for shit or consistently run the ball and not like cook is getting a ton of touches due to that.
