Studs Defense - Secondary continues to be dominant. Sauce continues to be elite in coverage. Reed had a great game too. whitehead got an INT. D-line did well getting pressure and forcing the raiders to take the ball out of AOCs hands. mosley/quincy/sherwood all looked good in the run game Ulbrich - Came in with a great gameplan. we went more run heavy on D. sherwood started over MC2. lawson was active over mcdonald. It was the small adjustments made. outside of the big run (adams and sauced whiffed on tackles on it) we did a good job holding them in check knowing they were going to go heavy run Pass protection - Actually looked pretty solid mostly. Big shot out to mitchell for handling crosby who's one of the better rushers in the league. he looked much better at RT then RG. newman held his own decently too in the RG spot. Conklin - dude comes up with bag catches all the time and is hard to bring down. not going to fault him on the hail mary. he was just trying to make a play and GW/conk kinda fucked each other Greg the leg - continues to be money. Duds Run blocking - we can't seem to open any holes in the run game. Saleh - I'm giving him blame for 2 reasons here. 1 is the conservative game plan thats killing us. his "race to 20 points" mentality is not working. we are a couple of freak plays away from being 2-7. we need to play the whole game like we are attacking and stop being too conservative. the 2nd reason is gain dumb drive killing penalties. we had our 1st TD in over 10 quarters negated by a penalty which in turn wound up settling for a FG. Hackett - i'll give him a little credit on trying to be creative on a few plays, but we probably need to do it more. GW had lazard open but whiffed the throw. we had another nice misdirection play called back by penalty. the issue is we have no balance because all his RB run plays are dives up the middle for no gain and we always have zach throwing in obvious pass downs. we need to chip away more and bring the D up and then take shots downfield Lazard - IDK why he's struggling so much this year but damn he had another rough game. looked like he gave up on the deep ball from wilson. had more drops. almost dropped an easy one. he is having a rough year Up and Down GW - had 2 bad drops (one over the middle he beat himself up over and one on a nice deep ball form zach that bounced off his arms) I wonder if the elbow was an issue. he hasn't been great the past 2 weeks Zach - yeah people will call him a dud, but he moved the offense better then he has in weeks. we actually picked up 1sts and sustained drives. outside of the INT he was slinging it at the end and made some crazy plays. he used his legs well. Overall I thought he did pretty well even if he had that INT at the end. I did like how he took an Intentional ground to prevent a possible fumble. that was actually pretty heads up.
yup forgot greg. i'll add him now. Morestead IMO had a weaker game then he usually has by his standards but was still solid, just not spectacular
Uzomah had more penalties than catches. One of them took 6 points off the board in a game his team lost by 4. as dud-level as it gets
The intentional grounding was to prevent a fumble? I'd specifically say Mosley was a stud. When he went out our run D took a step back.
the end result is the same. loss of down/yards. just like a sack. by throwing it away he prevents losing the ball while being sacked.
it's better then a fumble. everyone complained about him fumbling in the pocket, he actively does something to prevent it and people are still mad about it?
Yes. We are not the crazy ones. The person calling an intentional grounding penalty a "heads up play" is.
He’s so shitty that while wrapped up in a very non-violent potential sack he might fumble. So he has the wherewithal to realize he might fumble that he grounds the ball because he was just trying to make the heads up play? I love that rationale.
the people who are oddly angry and a backup QB for coming in and playing like one yes are the crazies. I'd much take a grounding penalty over the turnover. sadly zach was probably the 2nd or 3rd best player on our offense yesterday. we have some serious issues and they aren't fixable right now. we can't establish a run game because the line can't run block for shit. we don't have a reliable WR outside of GW. were forced to go 1 dimensional with a backup QB. we don't have any creativity in our playbook really, and every time we do get a good play it gets negated by a dumb penalty killing the drive.
so is a sack. it was 1 of the 2 options. nothing is really good there. both are better then a turnover though.
it's not quite as fun being the 1 reasonable person. even if zach gets benched and everyone here is proven wrong, you'll ignore it and go onto to the next nonsense argument. people never learn from their mistakes
how many make this? https://www.nfl.com/videos/wilson-s-poise-under-fire-creates-27-yard-seam-throw-to-conklin it's 1 play being harped on for no reason. it wasn't a big deal at all in the grand scheme of things.
