Some hyperbole on my part. I don't really think Uzomah should be inactive but his snaps should be almost exclusively given to Ruckert at this point.

I don't think there's anything Uzomah can do that Ruckert can't. We obviously still need Uzomah for when we run 13 personnel formations but IMO that's the only time Uzomah should see the field.

It was a half-assed toss.... the RB is building a head of steam so the ball needs to lead... Not saying it wasn't "catchable" but still the onus on that play falls on the QB. After my dad and I both said WTF?! Aikman chimed in saying essentially the same thing....

Very similar to how I feel. Monday night he totally regressed in terms of pocket presence/awareness. It was an aspect of his game that I've highlighted throughout the year as a big improvement for him and a big part of the reason that I felt he has been better this year.

There's just no other way to spin it though, Monday night was a huge step back for him in that regard. I felt on a bunch of plays he was just totally oblivious to pressure in his face. There's a fine line there though that QBs have to walk. You need to sense the pressure but also be willing to make plays through that pressure. I'm hoping this was just a bad game for him in this regard behind a patchwork OL against a good pass rush. He's got another test on Sunday night against Maxx Crosby so we'll see if this was a blip this year or if he's fully reverted back to his previous form.

Good news is he's hurt and might miss the upcoming game Sunday night.

I can, and I will completely fault Zach Wilson here. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can you take a sack here. If the Jets hold the line of scrimmage on this play, you bring in Zuerlien on 4th down to attempt a 52 yard field goal (which he is more than capable of) to make this a one possession game at 17-9.

Any quarterback with a basic understanding of game presence would have thrown the ball away under any HINT of pressure whatsoever. This has nothing to do with how the play unfolded. This is based upon the reality of the game situation prior to the ball being snapped.

This play is a damning indictment that Zach Wilson lacks the generalship to be an NFL quarterback, IMHO.

Only thing I can think of is that Turner, once again, gets bulled into Zach's lap by Mack. So maybe he felt like he couldn't fully step into the throw which caused it to be inaccurate.

Regardless, it's an easy throw. One that he's gotta make no matter what pressure he gets or senses.

I'd worry more if he was a vet.

I had high hopes for our tight ends... so far they've failed to impress.

I don't know, I feel like he really only showed us one solid half of football, and that was against the Chiefs. The rest of the time it's ranged from cringy to abysmal. With a couple of good throws here and there, many of them against a looser defense. I think the fact that the Jets were pulling these games out and winning them masked a lot of it, people were able to forgive him based on progress, and grit, and resilience. But in reality he's held the ball too long and taken bad sacks all along. Although, I do give you credit for being correct about the fact that there was a time a few weeks ago where he seemed to be a little bit better in the pocket but that was a fleeting glimpse.

Something eventually had to give, either he would get over the hump, or he would fall apart. We have our answer!

It was a very painful rewatch, my friend.

I look forward to a day of doing these with a good QB....in 2024. :D

Oh what could have been... :(

Rodgers going down was a heart breaker... we can only hope he comes back strong.

Well that's not how I was hoping he would end up not playing, but with Saleh's reluctance to bench players, this was probably the only way. Let's see if Newman gets a shot. I also just remembered they have Roger Saffold, but I'd rather see the former get a chance.

shouldn't be happening at this point in the season. I can see a Josh Dobbs, been with the team a week, messing up a pitch. But Wilson was here all camp and has been starting for over two months, they should be a tighter ship by now

Wilson literally made a TD in the Cowboys on the exact same play. It's a TD if thrown correctly. Zach knows how to do it. Pocket clean. He whiffed. It was a terrible miss. Zach has been inconsistent - you can't cherrypick each play. In totality he's been an inconsistent subpar QB with you summarize it all together.

You know who had drops too. THE. CHARGERS. EKELER. MULTIPLE TIMES. THEIR 1ST OR 2ND BEST OFFENSIVE WEAPON. They still found a way to win.

The difference was Herbert converted on 3rd down, and Zach did not and he never does.

He's too scared. His face looked scared. Like I got run this hurry up and they're putting more my plate - and I don't if I can do it. You know in your heart that's why he looked like that. It was in his eyes. everyone saw. ESPN commentators called it out the next day. This is why the team played like trash because they didn't have belief in him.

Give two Fs about the All-22. The kid is not made for the NFL.

I think on the field ruckert gives us more talent but the fact he had 2 killer pre-snap penalties may mean he isn't ready for a larger role. If you can't do the basics like line up correctly you can't see the field

it wasn't a great toss but it surely was catchable. breece took his eye off of it and it bounced right off his hand

and I get that. it's not a worry long term because it's easily fixable but its probably why he isn't getting more snaps

I get your general point but I'm not sure I agree with it in this instance. Bosa is contacting Wilson within 2 seconds of the ball being snapped. I'm not sure I know a QB that wouldn't have gotten sacked in this instance.

Not saying you're totally wrong by they way, just that for this play, I would put more of the blame on the OL than Zach. They've gotta give him more than 2 seconds on 3rd & 8.

The pre-snap penalties because they went hurry-up for the first all year – and the offense couldn't do it starting with the QB.

Hackett tried. But your QB sets the tempo on the field for the O.
