fantasy points? lol come on man
I love fantasy as much as the next guy, been playing it for over 2 decades. back when you needed paper and pen to do drafts and had to pay for live trackers. but it really ruined people's perception of players

Fantasy points are just a summation of catches+yards+TDs. Do you have more relevant evidence than those for why he's above average? And you can't just say eye test, because my eye test says he's not.

You have no evidence to back up your projection--he's been shit every year in every game basically. And it hasn't always been because of lack of time. Purely wishful thinking on your part imo.

which is volume and offense. taysom hill has more fanatsy points then kittle so guess he's better? thats why it's ridiculous. zach moss has more points then hall and bijan. he isn't half the RB they are.

he was shit his 1st 2 years. this year he is playing like a 22-25ish QB. nobody is saying he's good, were saying he's better then he was. but the whole offense was ass this week. out top 3 players on offense yesterday were wilson, tippman, and GW. if you are top 3 out of 11 players (14ish if you count subs who took significant snaps) then it's not the main issue. even rodgers would have been lucky to put up 14-17 points yesterday.

Valid point re: volume, but the Hill/Kittle thing is comparing two guys who have completely different roles. I'm comparing Conklin to other pure TEs.

I don't think Conklin is above average, probably right smack in the middle of average, but again, it doesn't change my point regardless. You need more than 1 weapon at WR. 1 good WR isn't enough, especially when your 2nd WR would be the 3rd WR on most teams.

He's not the backup. No backup starts 16 fricking games. He was named the starter for the remainder of the season after game one.
The Jets made it clear they would bring in no one to compete for the position and were riding Zach the rest of the way. He's been the starter ever since despite that twisted narrative.

you compared only using fantasy points. Wrs have gotten points throwing TDs as did RBs. LT was famous for that chucking short TDs to gates.
even if you want to say he's average, thats fine but he doens't suck. our main issue right now is just injuries and a freak retirement. which sucks but it is what it is.

on paper the offense should be something like

    LT becton
    LG tomlinson
    C CMG
    RG Tippman
    RT AVT
    RB Hall, cook, MC2
    WR GW
    WR Davis
    WR lazard
    TE Conklin
    TE Uzo/Ruckert
    QB Rodgers

that looks pretty good. instead it's
    LT becton
    LG Tomlinson
    C Tippman
    RG Mitchel
    RT Turner

    RB Hall, Cook, MC2
    WR GW
    WR Lazard
    WR Cobb
    TE Conklin
    TE Uzo/Ruckert
    QB WIlson

    thats some major downgrades there

he's still the backup. just like when vinny went down in 1999. lucas/mirar were the backups.

How many WRs and RBs throw TDs each season? Does it happen often enough to impact their statistics in a meaningful way? You're missing the forest for the trees here.

Not sure why you're listing OL when I'm just talking about skill positions on offense. Even if Davis hadn't retired it wouldn't change my point.

because the offense as a whole is the issue. the o-line affects the output of WRs/ TEs/ RBs etc. our crazy good o-line in the early 2010s made JAG RBs look like stars. In the NFL everything is relative. moreso then other sports.

Yeah his "stacked offense" can't score! He has a terrible record as a GM. He failed.

It's hard to tell how good Conklin is because the QB is so bad

but I think even if they peaked out his potential he'd still be a mid-level TE. We are not sitting on Tony Gonzalez here, it's not a success story for Joe Douglas
