I just realized that after flying to Oakland for the late-night game, the Jets have to fly back and then get a short week for the Dolphins who are coming off a bye (Friday). That's some GRADE A bullshit. Didn't know where to put this so I put it here.
From The Jets Way: Hopefully, this means we'll see more of the aggressiveness from Hackett and the offense that we saw in the KC game when we were behind by 17 points. If so, this could be a breakout game for Zach. If Hackett, keeps things conservative, then we probably stand no chance.
Both Tippman and Tomlinson will be playing, so that's good news. Lazard may not be, or may be limited. That could go either way. He's made some big catches, but he has also had a lot of big drops. Maybe this will force Hackett to use the TEs more in the passing game, and perhaps use Izzy in space as well. If Gipson and Brownlee know where they're supposed to go and what they're supposed to do, they could have big games as well (relatively speaking). If Lazard can't play, Hackett has to find another viable target for Zach other than Cobb. Conklin or Ruckert could have big games if they aren't having to stay in and block.
Wasn’t the schedule makers just a family in like Pittsburgh or Ohio that did it for 40 years? I remember seeing a ESPN segment or something on it. Now it’s made by AI so of course we get tom fuckery like that.
I think the keys to a Jets victory are stopping Ekeler, Mack and Bosa and Hackett opening up the offense and allowing Zach to be more aggressive throwing downfield. If the Jets can limit their impact on the game, and Hackett does his part, I think we have a chance to win. Even if Herbert has a great game and we lose, if Hackett does open up the offense and the Jets' OL is able to limit the damage that Mack and Bosa can do, Zach could finally have that breakout game and get his 300 yards and 2-3 TDs passes. Having a game like that would do wonders for Zach, the offense, the team, and the fanbase.
All 3 of our division foes lost, so we have a chance to move closer to the division lead. How crazy is that?
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a Jets victory. I know it could be ugly and go the other way big time, especially if the Jets' OL can't stop Bosa and Mack and/or if Ekeler has a big game, but if I'm gonna be optimistic, I'd better go big or go home, so I'm predicting that Hackett/Saleh have realized that they can't possibly win this game by playing it conservatively. I think they open up the offense, let Zach wing it downfield, and he rewards them with a big game, throwing for over 300 yards and 2-3 TDs (one to GW who has 150+ yards receiving in the game, one to Maalik Taylor, and possibly one to Conklin or Ruckert). In addition, Breece scores a TD, and Zuerlein adds 3 FGs and the Jets win 30-17.
Have an awesome time and root the Jets on to victory! Perhaps Jett will be good luck. If so, that means you have to buy season tickets! LOL
As long as the Pats game doesn't cost us a playoff spot, it's better that we lost it. Keeps Belichick's hands off the top pick.
Please tell Jett Happy Birthday! I hope Jets win and make it a memorable night for him at Metlife. Good luck with the tailgate as well my friend and enjoy the game.
