Well considering the second best year of Herbert career came his very first season under a different head coach I’m going to say that his success is far more due to his talent than his coaching. I mean there’s a reason you’re on an island here. Herbert is a great quarterback and Brandon Staley is a notoriously terrible coach.
He’s also on his 3rd offensive system in his 4th year. That’s been used as a QB crutch around here a lot. For what it’s worth I do think it matters some.
It definitely matters, meanwhile Herbert has been a top 10 guy since he came into the league. Dude makes plays. A lot of them are great, some of them are atrocious. Reminds me of another Chargers gunslinger.

That's what I do In Dallas I brought a bottle of Jack Daniels with me, approached a Cowboys tailgate. Told them I am from New York and if I could join their tailgate. Gave my bottle to them and drank their beer and ate their food. It was very pleasant
Won't lie, that's pretty awesome... Probably 25 years ago I was in southern Baja (near Cabo) with a buddy on a surf trip. Well at the end of our trip we got whacked by a hurricane. Mudslides shut most of the roads down and water looked like yoo-hoo so we werent surfing. We walked down the road and found the one convenience store open and bought some Modelos. On the way back we hitched a ride with a bunch of mexican construction workers int he back of a truck cruising checking out all the damage.... They barely spoke english, I barely spoke spanish, but we had beer, and they had tequila..... and we instantly became friends
