Just touching back on this — - average return to play was 119 days. - 4 or 5 of the 21 people who had this surgery were over 200 days so it skews it a little - high chance that none of these people received the same treatment as Rodgers. It doesn’t say who the 21 people are - average age of the 21 people were 39.7 years old - no difference in reinjury rate vs normal procedure - 119 days puts him at week 18 / WC weekend - Half of the 21 were able to return in less than 100 days “So what we see as of now he is 2 weeks ahead of the schedule based on the stages of recovery etc. We know he was in a shoe at week 5 of recovery vs week 7 in the standard speed bridge recovery schedule (when he was on the field). So he can obviously have his recovery slowed or have a setback, but if he stays on his current schedule and trend in line with the population of people that recovered in 100 days, the last 3 games (vs. Commanders 12/24, vs. Browns 12/28, and vs. Pats on 1/7) are in play for him to be on the field. Doesn’t mean he will but it’s a lot more realistic than I thought before all this”
Thanks DW If he plays the last 3 games of the year and goes 2-1, we better be at 8-6 before Rodgers takes over to talk about Playoffs. I am assuming we need 10 wins to make it. So we need to go 4-3 rest of the schedule. As I said earlier, upcoming 2 games against Chargers and Raiders will most likely determine if we make the playoffs or not. Go 2-0 and you are well positioned. 2 AFC wins plus going ahead of Chargers who will be our head to head rival will be huuuuuge. But what does that mean? Jets will lose the Chargers game in a last minute field goal and make life tough for us rest of the season.
I can't see anyway he comes back this season from that injury especially at 40. If by some miracle he does, then there is a very good chance he gets hurt again especially behind this OL.
It doesn’t really matter how it happens but 2-2 in the next 4 is the path to 8 before Washington. If by some miracle you get 3-1? You’re absolutely chilling. I really don’t consider it some type of miracle anymore. Is it a long shot? Sure, maybe? But the medical data is right there in front of us in regards to his surgery and recovery. The people who said it was impossible and was never going to happened need to pause with those takes because it is absolutely worth the conversation.
I have to say, watching footage of Rodgers throwing the ball before the game on Sunday, he looked like he did during camp. Up until seeing that, I thought this early return stuff was wishful thinking.
It is not. He was on Pat McAfee show earlier this week and he said moving doesn't mean playing. He said he has to be in playing shape before he attempts to play. So far we know he is a few weeks ahead of schedule but chances are he will not be in playing condition until end of December. Hopefully we are in it until then.
I’m gonna guess if the Jets are in the chase he is activated on the morning of Christmas Eve …. but does not start. If Zach falters he comes in. If Zach plays well or at least well enough for the to Jets win then Rodgers gets an extra 4 days rest and sees his first action against Cleveland. Just a hypothetical guess….I think the NE game will wind up being a win and in and they’ll want Rodgers ready to go..
If the Jets do make the playoffs under Wilson why would you change him out for a severely injured vet. Would that not be a dumb move? This is just hype inspired by Woody to get season ticket owners over the sales sodomy of 10 to 15% increase on prices and the November payment change up. Follow the money Jet fans. Rogers ain't coming back this season except to hold a clipboard.
A severely injured vet, huh? No one is advocating for him to play hurt. If he’s medically cleared by the doctors he should play. It shouldn’t be up for debate and I doubt it would be..Rodgers coming back for a playoff run would be one of the biggest stories of all time. You don’t think woody would be all in on that?
The last time a Hall of Fame QB coming off a severe injury replaced a "winning" QB with a cult-like following and interesting religious beliefs, it turned out pretty well.
For Headlines ….that’s one thing Woody craves. If Rodgers is cleared to play he’s gonna play …. and as I stated in my previous post if that last game is a win and in game it’ll be Rodgers behind center. Zach has had 4 cracks at Belichecks defense. Sure eventually he may decode it. That game isn’t going to be the time to see if he can….they go to Rodgers….just my opinion.
I hope Aaron can come back but I want a healthy AR to come back. I am not so sure a 40-year-old QB missing 17+ games can off the bench after a horrible injury and play well and be able to protect himself.
12/28 is the Browns game. The time on the watch is 10:08:12 seconds. 9/11 + 108 days is 12/28 and the date is the 28th
I would think that most athletes recover faster than the average slob. They also have the best surgeons in the world, so what's really to see here.
