Good thing is, this team came to play on primetime really. Won against the Bills and played very competitively against the Chiefs and lost due to refs ineptitude. Hosting Chargers at Metlife on Monday Night Football and traveling to Las Vegas to take on Raiders on Sunday Night Football. I say we might go 2-0 but most likely will go 1-1. What do you say?
I'm thinking 1-1, but I'm not set on which game we win and which one we lose, but I'm thinking we lose to the Chargers and beat the Raiders. My guess is that both games end up being sloppy, low scoring affairs again where we get lucky in one game, and not so lucky in the other.
the nation is blessed to be able to witness the glory of the gridiron that the JETS demonstrated today....
Technically, there's still a chance they could flex us out of SNF, which is a decision that would have to be made by this Wed afternoon, I believe. I don't think they will because the Jets have had big ratings for their national window games this year, but I wouldn't rule it out either. Especially if the Raiders lay an egg tomorrow night, combined with the Jets performance today.
Why wouldn't they want to treat the nation to the juggernaut that is the Jet Offense??? Just the thought of Zach throwing darts 3 yards downfield should be enough for anyone who really enjoys watching football!!
If I’m the NFL I would totally flex out that SNF game…Raiders are not good and neither is our O…I would think there are more interesting games at play there But we’ll see…still need to play this week’s games
The Chargers is an intriguing matchup for the general public. Jets/Raiders is not so I’d expect a flex if we’re in flex season yet. The Raiders will have a scheduled prime time game every other week since week 3 if it doesn’t get flexed. Pretty weird considering their roster makeup.
Normally I'd be not at all surprised if they flexed that Jets/Raiders game, but looking at the schedule for the week, there's nothing all that exciting that they can replace it with. At least the Jets bring with them a potentially large TV audience, since we have had some of the highest rated games of the year.
Not only are the Jets on primetime these next two weeks but after that its a 4:25 start at Buffalo. That game is the #1 game for CBS and will shown around the country. I would guess Nantz and Romo for that one.
Those would have been my thoughts as well, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, aren't the networks allowed to protect a game from flex each week? I would definitely assume those two would be candidates for that, given how poor a slate that week's games are.
Yes, I believe so. Fox would have to give up Ravens/Browns if they protected Jags/49ers. That would be pretty unfair to the Jags too. They’d go from catching a west coast team traveling east for a 1PM to a prime time game.
Im going to guess no regardless of how the Raiders fare. The Jets are still on a winning streak along with the NY market. The Jets and the Raiders to have their own history of sorts..
Jesus, I wonder if they'll be handing out, free horse tranquilizers, when the Jet offense is on the field. 2 weeks in a row, they'll be no sweeping it under the rug anymore.
There's no protection clause any longer; but the NFL and networks "negotiate" replacement games. Here are the complete rules: Why NFL flexes games and how changing 2023 schedule works – NBC10 Philadelphia (nbcphiladelphia.com)
