Jones is a monster could you imagine two oak trees at r/l tackle with Jones and Becton holy shit first 2 guys off the bus no doubt
If my memory serves me correctly, he was picked a few slots ahead of us. It wouldn't have cost much to move up at that point in the draft
Exactly, having our LT and RT the size of a school bus with the ability to actually move would have been amazing. I just don't understand the way we run our drafts sometimes.
We definitely screwed that up. Not saying that Warren sucks but the guy was hurt i think when we drafted him. Jones was a straight plug and play monster at RT.
Didn’t want to start another thread but after todays game with the Giants, we are now beyond massively screwed at the OL position. We are down three Centers that can also play Guard. We don’t even have back ups left to deal with this mess. JD needs to have some emergenvpcy signings in place now.
I think Dwayne Brown is eligible from IR. Move Becton back to RT and move Mitchell to guard? It gives me heart burn to even think about the terrible luck this Oline has had over the last two seasons.
That worries me. Becton is better on the left, and less injury prone. Brown is a mystery at this point. We need to get OL desperately.
I recognize the unlikelihood that an NFL O-lineman makes it through a season without ever missing a game, but with the Oline injuries today I have to believe the Jets are pretty snakebitten on this issue. And it makes me wonder what the strength/conditioning or technique/ scheme have to do with it, vs. just chance.
Given all the injuries - to both teams - today, they Jets and Giants need to seriously consider tearing up the turf and and installing grass. There can't be a coincidence between the turf they have and all the injuries they suffer.
