We all knew this was coming. He's definitely not the same back he was and the team seems to flounder when he's on the field. Didn't like the signing from the beginning. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38751664/frustrated-rb-dalvin-cook-talk-agent-jets-trade
Next. It should noted, though, that wherever he winds up he'll have the game of his career against the Jets. Edit: Phone shenanigans.
Dalvin Cook signed a 1 yr contract for $7 million and thus far has rushed for 109 yards which averages out to $64,221 PER YARD. nice cabbage for an over-the-hill slouch…
Dalvin still can't find a team willing to love Dalvin for being the kind of Dalvin that Dalvin loves to be.
Well, we all know what happens to players who ask to be traded from the Jets right? Cook is as good as gone.
His vision and decisiveness (and apparently his self-awareness too) suck. He reminds me a lot of L.Bell with the Jets: a has-been going through the motions but still expecting to be "the featured" concept of the offense.
What did he expect signing on to a team with a young RB who looked like a star? If they can get anything for him in a trade it would be worth it. I'd love to see more of Izzy
I never wanted Cook and I never really understood the move honestly. Breece was always going to get off his "pitch count" around week 5. We signed Cook who was coming off shoulder surgery and missed all of camp. We needed someone who was going to play weeks 1-4 to help spell Breece and ease him back. Why would they sign a guy who clearly wasn't ready to do that? Made zero sense honestly.
I guess I'm the lone holdout with hope. (well besides Saleh who said he's heating up)... every running back who misses camp is slow early in the year. The Jets didn't sign him for September, they signed him for November/December. Remember we thought we could make the playoffs once? why stray from that plan I would not trade Cook for several reasons
Well I think we’re all frustrated with the 2.5 yards per carry…watching him just run into the line for 2 yards every play and totally stall the offense sucks. That being said, there may be something to him just needing to come up to speed after no offseason I don’t know, I’d like to see what Izzy can do, and we still have MC, so Cook isn’t really a need and if we can get anything for him, I’d consider it
He’s been awful but did the front office not prep him and his agent that Breece would get the lionshare of touches once he was fully ready to go?
