I fucking hate the fact the Jets are hearing how great they are for two weeks. Guaranteed letdown game. Especially considering their history of fucking the dog after the bye. Not feeling good about this one at all.
But on the other side of that this is a different team and I can’t see them coming in flat for their crosstown rivals of all teams …. That DL should mop the floor with the Giants OL. Daboll better make sure Jones is 100% because sticking him back there against this pass rush with a bad neck isn’t a smart move … I do agree this isn’t the most convenient time for the bye although it does give a chance for the DBs to heal up.
A-Rodge said on the Bro Central Broadcast that it seemed like Woody was going to make the team work until Wednesday, but then changed his mind and they only came in on Monday. They will be nice and rested for the trap game they should not logically even have.
Giants D is looking pretty good…lots of pressure and lots of blitzes…will make life tough for our OL and force Zach into some quick decisions…he hasn’t been good against pressure. That D held Buffalo to what, 14? Combining that with our always flat after a bye vibe we seem to love and I think this game will be a tough one…if Giants hold on and beat Washington, they will be looking at this as a must win game, while we come in all high on our press clippings This has that classic Jets letdown game all over it
Wink Martindale sends the house on every play, you can gameplan against that. The question is will we?
Or because the Giants have looked good the last two weeks the Jets take them more seriously than they would have.
Taylor was better today than Jones has been in at least 85% of the starts in his career. The Jets should probably hope that they force Jones back in as the starter.
The Jets defense is built to deal with speedy running offenses like the Eagles, Chiefs and Bills. Tyrod isn't as bad a matchup as he used to be. I still feel an upset coming though.
Not that the previous games mean much anymore, but I think the last time they played him was probably the Thursday night game against the Browns, where the Jets were dominating... until rookie Baker Mayfield came in for the second half and unlocked a bunch of Bud Light coolers.
Probably low scoring but that plays into our strengths. It'll be closer than it should be but I'm confident we can pull of the win.
2-12 out of the bye week since 2009. The average win % of teams out of a bye is about 55%. They gotta figure this out. Beat their ass like a drum. Come on.
