I'm almost at the end of season 1 of Yellowjackets. I was expecting it to be sickeningly Girl Power but it's pretty damn good. Juliette Lewis is perfect for her role and Christina Ricci is fucking awesome.
"The Fall of the House of Usher" on Netflix has a really high rating on IMDB, so I think I'm going to start that series.
I'm halfway through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Not sure why I decided to watch it, but it is a really original take on something that has been beaten past death. Stylistically, the art is beautiful and has no business depicting something this mainstream, but it's there and it's awesome. Jackie Chan playing Splinter is actually hilarious, and I stopped liking him during the Rush Hour crap.
I watched Sin City 2. It didn't hit the same as the first. Mindless violence, and some nude and seminude hotties. D+
I started it. Its an acquired taste. Not for everybody but interesting in a bent sorta way. Puts the "D" in dysfunctional family.
I watch a lot of youtube, I know it doesn't exactly fit but I thought this was worth sharing. It's an excellent lecture on the Russian Civil War.
I'm fighting my way through this one. It's a stretch to expect to maintain the viewer's attention when every character is intentionally unlikeable. Who do you root for? Do we care who dies? Maybe it changes, but I'm on episode 4 and don't care that they died or why.
I haven't seen it, but The original Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles comic was so far removed from what eventually became mainstream, supposedly this is closer to the original. *I was no comic nerd, but my brother was (and briefly did animation) Jackie Chan, THE DRUNKEN MASTER
The second half ended up getting a little too buddy-movie for me. Then I actually paid attention to the end credits and saw Seth Rogen all over them. Duh. Still not bad for all that though. The art was really next level. Watch it have been done with Midjourney or some shit.
cool. may have to check it out. The original stuff was drawn super cool, and themes were generally dark from what I remember
Been watching Invasion on Apple TV. Really good so far, would recommend if you're at all into alien invasion-type shows or movies. The production value on it is really high.
The story isn’t very deep but you said it. The production value is amazing. Sounds great on surround sound like you’re in a movie theater. I actually think they’ve went a little overboard with the story in season 2 so far but I haven’t finished yet.
I like this one. The pacing feels slow, but I blazed through 5 episodes without thinking. It's got a realistically aimless quality to the pacing, really cool.
Hardly watched the movie Oracle but the young leading lady was so hot and the old lady in it was so hot too.
I just finished 'All Light We Cannot See" on Netflix(4 episodes). I had to watch this one because the book was so good. Per usual, the book was a lot better, but, worth the watch.
