How would you grade the current team?

    Offense -
Zach - C (The definition of fine and went from unplayable to playable)
RBs - B (Cook and Carter alone an F, Hall by himself A+)
WRs - B (GW brings this to a B by himself, but holy shit, after that these guys are a C-)
TE - C/C+ (Conklin has been good, Uzomah blows and shouldn't really be seeing that many snaps over Ruckert)
OL - C+/B- (I think they've been better than what we expected prior to the year)

    Defense -
DL - A (Not really much to say here)
    LB - A (Quincy is an All-Pro)
Secondary - B+ (Can't give them A considering Sauce dropped that pick 6 vs Dallas and it felt like they still give up a bunch of 3rd and 8s/9s [Pats and Eagles games stick out])

Specials - A++++++++++++++ (Irv Charles is playing out his mind the last two weeks, Punter and Kicker have been rocksolid)

    Coaching -

Saleh - C+ (Losing your HOF QB 4 plays in and still getting this team to win 3 games when we said we would settle for that with AROD). Still think the team starts way to slow + his in game management blows or else I would have him in the B or B- range)

Ulbrich - A (Defense has been electric ever since that Cinci blowup last year with Q. Only 1 2nd half TD allowed in 6 games is insane. Holding the Chiefs, Eagles, Bills to an average of 17 points with 8 INTs)

Hackett - C (Offense is finally starting to move the ball between the 20s and it feels like it's so close to clicking, but not there yet -- especially in the RZ. Tough to adjust going from AR to ZW who obviously can't do what AR can. I will love to see how the offense looks coming out of the bye week. I'm sure it's hard to gameplan for the upcoming team while also managing a QB who 4 weeks ago looked like he shouldn't even be on a PS roster)

    Boyer - A++++++++++++++

I'm super impressed with the linebackers. Not too long ago that was considered a weakness. Did you know that Mosley & Quincy are ranked the #1 and #2 linebackers in the NFL in coverage? That's a big reason the Jets survived being without sauce & reed.

I'd give the Dline a B- but trending up based on the last game. Dline was very good in the last game. Was pedstrian to suspect in several others. Given the resources, there's an expectation of elite Dline play and Jets Dline has not demonstrated that consistently.
I also think the Oline has performed worse-- I'd grade at a F to C range per game with a C- overall for the season.
Finally, Jets receivers are probably lower as well. I'd grade that group as a C+. Other than GW they really struggle to create separation. Not a deeply talented group. Hopefully the two rookies continue to develop and Hardman gets outta the dog house-- could really use some athleticism that Cobb just simply doesn't have anymore.
I guess it somewhat depends on rater frame of reference. I see a C/C+ as "average" and Jets are an "average" team at 3-3. So I find it hard to rate every position group except QB above average.
However, if you conceptualize "average" as B then your grades are probably close.

This team is 3-3 with a tough schedule and losing your starting QB 4 plays in. How on earth can only give the head coach a C+?

A little harsh imo. He says ZW is the QB. ZW The plays solid in 3 games. Saleh got the PS CBs played well in the Eagles game. And if he starts slow every week, what about him finishing the 2nd half in last 3 weeks? Pretty good.

Imagine if they played a complete game and didn't come out flat many times. Maybe he could be a B-? But I don't think anything more than that. Oh. And he lost the Pats, the worst team in the freaking league. Come on.

overall I think it's a pretty fair assessment.
My only gripe is uzo who has played really well. he's one of the best blocking TEs in the NFL. not sure how anyone could say he blows. and last game him and ruckert had about the same amount of snaps.
I also wouldn't penalize the secondary for dropped INTs. every team does that here and there. we currently have 8 INTs which is tied for 2nd in the NFL and 13 overall turnovers which is tied for 2nd in the NFL. we are also +5 in differential which is tied for 6th best in the NFL.

edit: and coaching. I think saleh deserves a B+. I can't give an A becuase he has made mistakes in game and we have come out flat, but he lost his starting QB and we had a brutal 1st 6 games and he came out 3-3. the defensive gameplanning and execution has been phenomenal and offensively we are doing "enough" to win with a beat up o-line and backup QB

Maybe this was too strong of a take. I feel like there is not that much of a difference between Uzo and Ruckert with blocking but Ruckert offers way more as a receiving option that Uzomah. Ruckert is literally blocking people off the screen in the All22s every week.

yeah ruckert has looked good and has earned more snaps as we seen last week. I'm sure we move on from uzo in the offseason to save the 6 mil and ruckert takes backup duties. conklin is still the clear TE1 though. if our biggets issue is our 3rd TE may be outperforming our 2nd TE thats a pretty good issue to have lol

Zach is a C if we're grading him like a backup. If we're grading him like someone who could be the future of the team, he's a D-. And Saleh deserves an A- for keeping the team afloat despite losing Rodgers. You can't give Ulbrich all the credit for the defense.

Ruckert sent some sorry Bills guy flying on Breece Hall's long run. Then he kept running and looking for more. It was awesome

Uzomah is not one of the "best blocking TEs in the league" lol that was a laughable take.

I'm thinking you have Uzomah's and Ruckert's skill sets a lil mixed....

Your grades look good to me. I can't get a good bead on Saleh. He seems like he doesnt have the X's & O's but someone is making halftime adjustments in that building that we can respect

Uzomah is a top run blocker.

I also am pretty much on board with these ratings, but I do think Saleh is more of a B to me than a C….yes we start slow, and yes losing to that god awful Pats team was a disgusting display, but stepping back and looking at the big picture, having this team at 3-3 when AR went down after 4 plays deserves some credit. Whatever the slow starts hiccups, it does not feel like he’s lost this team, which would have been very possible with Aaron going down so fast. But he didn’t. They play hard for him. Counts for something.

I think the OL has been about average now over the last couple games…yes we still give up pressure in pass pro, but there were plenty of plays where Zach had more than enough time too. It’s getting better. Agree our receiver group is one stud guy and then the quality goes down fast and far…if GW gets hurt we are in trouble for sure…need to stop playing Cobb as much and get Gipson more opportunities…maybe not yet on third down if you don’t want to trust an undrafted rookie on critical downs, but they should be playing him more and easing him in.

Red zone woes on O need to be fixed. ASAP.

But overall I’d give Saleh a B for holding it together and getting a couple wins against playoff teams…we’ve played 4 playoff teams including both Super Bowl teams. And we beat 2 of them…Dallas whupped us bad but we took KC down to the wire fighting them and the refs all the way. 3-3 against that, with a backup QB. Not terrible.

he has been this year. have you watched the games? it's why he's been in over ruckert, although ruckert has been impressing and getting more snaps too.

also not that it's gospel or anything but from PFF (week 3)

    Tight End C.J. Uzomah:

    • Overall PFF grade of 83.4 (28 snaps)
    • Receiving grade of 64.9 (12 snaps)
    • Pass blocking grade of 73.6 (3 snaps)
    • Run blocking grade of 88.3 (13 snaps)
Uzomah had perhaps his best game as a New York Jet on Sunday, excelling in both blocking areas. While the run and pass game never seemed to get its feet off the ground, Uzomah’s blocking was surely not a reason why.

he's been graded like that every week pretty much in blocking. we've been using him in the role corey davis would have played on run plays and we've used alot more 12 personnel this year due to how good the TEs have been

    edit:
i'm also not the only one who noticed here apparently

I watch every week. I watched Micah Parsons run through Uzomah, knock the ball out of Dalvin Cook's hands, pick up the ball and run right past Uzomah

but PFF grades him well so what can ya do
