If they can win one of the Miami games we might be able to see Rodgers back for the final game against the cheatriots,,, Rodgers beating the ratty sweater guy and putting the final nail in his career (I think he gets fired or retires if they lost to Jets) AND making the playoffs wipes away the stench of this team from the last decade.
OK - I am going by the Cam Akers timeline of 4-5 months. It has already been reported A-Rod had a very similar op as him. - I think the original timeline was week 16 or 17 ( making it a 4 month recovery) - He is 6 weeks ahead of this projection. IS IT POSSIABLE to return first week of DEC. against ATL????? I understand it is unlikely. Listening to every interview with A-rod regarding this - he has mentioned about what are the risks of playing ( meaning what are the risks of him playing at maybe 80%) He isnt a young player that needs to ruin a potential 10 year career. He is only risking a year maybe. Anyway, i am holding out hope he makes a return early.
Those are some good points I must say. I didn't consider that he cares less about long term impact than others but he would for sure
I'm sure he also knows if he hurts it again, then what? He would still have roughly 9 months to get ready for week 1 again where he just showed he could be back in 4. I have no idea how much harder it would be to heal it a second time, but I'm sure that is something they will discuss if he does come back.
He also probably has a witch rubbing warm ginger root on his calf every night to heal the injury faster. It’s pretty cool to see though. We’ve never had a free agent this interested in the Jets.
Next time I get hurt I am going to find the nearest aquarium and make sure I'm listening to all the dolphins make love.
I'm not sure where you're getting the six weeks ahead of schedule idea, or the 16-17 week timeline; they may be for guys like you or I but not for serious athletes. I posted a few links above at #264 that show typical rehab schedules from three large sports medicine sources. Also there is an article about Akers, which all seem to be pretty close to what we've seen from Rodgers. I don't really believe his return should be based on a percentage of playing ability but rather on the point of reinjury due to incomplete healing.
Asman was talking this AM about how reinjury is actually not a concern after three months. It's just a matter of pain tolerance.
I'll let Flipper hump the shit out of my leg if it'll help grow back some meniscus cartilage in my knees....
No way - that's not even 3 months. 0 chance he is playing week 12 .... I think.... I do think there may be a possibility for the final regular season game - Dec 7 vs Patriots. That's almost 4 months. Would still be unheard of but somewhat close to what Akers did. Imagine Rodgers back to break the losing streak against the Pats and make play-offs. One can only dream...
Would you let Flipper hump the shit out of your leg if it’d help Rodgers grow extra achilles muscles in case this one fails when he returns?
The 6 weeks ahead of schedule is because the time line of people walking is around the 9th week. He was out of a cast and walking without crutches in week 4
